Anyway, Luffy pushed Kaido to high diff, here is why.

First of all, Kaido is in hybrid form which is supposedly the strongest form a zoan df user has for fighting. No need for explanation here, if you've read One Piece you should know that.
Second point, Kaido was attacking with the intention of killing Luffy each time he attacked him, meaning he used all his strength in his attacks in the form he used (dragon, base and hybrid), cases in point


Kaido has been using CoC coating with his attacks which he said only the most powerful people in the verse could do implying it is the pinnacle of strength. Using it means he is fighting seriously.
We have also seen Luffy being able to use it and he was matching hybrid Kaido in his base form. Top tier feat.
We also know he fought Kaido in his base for around 20 to 30 minutes in a 1v1, so that alone indicates that it was not a low diff fight.

Now what happened between Kaido and Luffy, well the off panel says it all, Kaido used his strongest attack, move or form (awakening), and Oda is not ready to show that yet.

To sum it all up, Kaido couldn't defeat Luffy without using his strongest attack, so that sounds like a high diff fight to me. My boy did very well despite what some people are trying to say :kata:
When Luffy will come back, he will have something else up his sleeve and will extreme diff Kaido but that's for anothe rthread where I will explain how.

What I'm saying is Kaido has something up his sleeve that he uses only against those he judged worthy, he defeated Luffy with that.

Luffy is close to hybrid Kaido.

I agree it was a high difficulty fight for Kaido, but not because he is in hybrid form or that he is using CoC. Kaido was in Hybrid form and using CoC for while on the rooftop against the 5 supernovas, but I wouldn't consider the fight then to have been high difficulty.

The reason I think the 1v1 fight was a high difficulty is because:
  • The duration of the 1v1. Kaido and Luffy are implied to have been going at it for at least 20 minutes, considering how quickly Kaido knocked out Law and Zoro, and Luffy earlier in Wano, that shows that Luffy was holding his own during that time.
  • Luffy being able to block Kaido's CoC infused attacks. From what we have seen, Kaido's thunder bagua is his go to attack, it not working against Luffy means Kaido had to pull out his best to put down Luffy.
  • Kaido's acknowledgement that he hadn't been this fired from a fight in while, shows that for that 20 minutes or more, he actually considered Luffy as a worthy opponent, hence the disappointment when Luffy couldn't keep it up.

It's a mid diff imo. It is his serious strength, but Luffy didnt last against Kaidou's Adv CoC full duration. Kaidou won the battle of attrition of displaying serious strength but he's far from being tired, and imo Kaidou has 2 more trump cards. So i' leaning toward mid diff or the borderline between mid and high. Quite proud though, since Kaidou just negg diffed everyone else combined lol

I mean .... Kaido might very well still have awakening ... but I'm not sure if he used it on Luffy

Why high difficulty?

At the end of the day this first of all isn't just Luffy v Kaido from the start. Second, we have absolutely no clue what kind of difficulty Kaido has been pushed to, it also depends on his current physical conditions and also whether or not G4 was put into place. We need these compelling elements at our disposal to make a better prevision that would still ultimately remain in the realm of speculation.

this would be a very shitty move from Oda if you ask me

Kaido have to lose in a 1 Vs few fight with Luffy doing the heavy lifting

Kaido is schizophrenic, Luffy has shocked Kaido by exceeding his expectations multiple times (2 week growth rate, g4 surpassing him, learning adv CoC when he claimed it was beyond him), but he is somehow also disappointed that Luffy didn't meet his expectations? #villainlogic
Kaido has been a silver medalist for over 20 years with the strongest Zoan fruit we have seen, Luffy has been in the new world for a handful of weeks and has already become the prime contender for the pirate king's throne among the worst generation, being the strongest pirate captain after the yonkos.
