Well, 9 Scabbards failed to do it as well as the 5 supernovas bar Asura Zoro who inflicted Kaido a scar.
Same Kaido has yet to show that the scar affects his condition somehow.
Yeah, the Asura slash was not a Gamma Knife.

There are many routes that can be taken to weaken Kaido:
  • Yamato has Advanced COC, and so her attacks deal lasting damage.
    • Imagine Advanced COC haki beams.
  • The Asura attack plays a role later on.
  • The accumulated damage from all his previous battles catches up to him.
  • Zoro faces Kaido again and does more damage.

There are also many routes to strengthen Luffy:
  • New Red Techniques
    • Red Garuda
    • Red Phoenix
      • King version
  • New Gatling techniques:
    • Red Hawk Gatling
    • Red Roc Gatling
    • King Kong Gatling
  • A new Gear 4th form
  • Gear Stacking
  • Gear 5
  • Awakening
  • Marco/Chopper healing to remove his previous damage
  • Ice Oni transformation
  • Hawkins cards that enable one surpass their limits

Even if we insist that Luffy must solo Kaido, he doesn't need to be able to push Kaido to high diff now to be able to solo him at the end of the arc.

Except this comparison doesn't work because we haven't seen Nami matched Ulti
Nami knocked Ulti down twice.

he even knocked him down multiple times while he was on guard. He could block and dodge.
Pre Udon Luffy knocked Kaido down (and did zero damage). Knocking Kaido down by itself is not really impressive.

Nami vs Ulti is one thing, Luffy vs Kaido is another. The dynamic is completely different.
Kaido's words this chapter confirm that Luffy never truly matched him:

Yes but what I meant is that never clashed equally. Luffy did with Kaido on multiple occasions and he dealt damage in doing so.

Not relevant since I'm talking about raid Luffy and Kaido, Kaido was clearly affected by Luffy's attack even to the point he preferred dodging before Luffy could use CoC imbued attacks.

He said he hasn't been that fired up since a long time, he was imo fighting seriously and again this is my headcanon but I really don't see why Oda would off paneled luffy's loss if Kaido just used his regular attacks that we've seen so far. I mean Kaido knocked him out in 1009 and he had no problem showing that. Then Luffy matches Kaido with CoC and the fight gets off paneled. He used something special. I'm pretty sure about that. We will only see it again at the final stage of their fight.

Shock factor.
It's short to the point and it hits hard how luffy got ez clapped and kaido is disappointed. This is one case of offpanelling that's OK. Usually when luffy gets a new power up he shows off a bit even if he doesn't win. Most expected luffy to start pushing kaido around. This what ? A chapter later smashes all those expectations and hits home there's levels to this shit luffy.

No because WB woulda healed from that stabbed sooner or later.
Secondly Kaido was trying his absolute best against Zoro and still got body bagged.
He wasn’t trying his absolute best though, this chapter proved it.

Nameless strikes that got blocked by Asura isn’t his absolute best.

And I mean scars don’t heal unless you got regen, I’m sure some of the fodder attacks would leave something.

No nameless strikes are what he used on Oden, the guy who PTSD'd him for life

There is one thing to give 1 mm scar and one thing to give Kaido as big of a scar as Mihawk gave.

Also Zoro tanked advCoC Thunder Bagua

They were no named attacks or whatever when Zoro used Asura, so they were nameless.

What I’m trying to say is that leaving a scar doesn’t mean you high diff the dude, heck he couldn’t even drop Kaido down from his feet.

And again with the adcoc Tb, there is just TB. Show me the difference in pictures or stop talking random drivel.
