Powers & Abilities Shiki statement in the Databook blue deep

You realize Oda doesn't write databooks anyways he is equal to roger in strength.

He rivaled with him doesnt mean he was as powerful as him I guess. Just like Marco and the admirals in databook blue
Newgate rival Roger does that mean he was not as powerful? no its literally saying they're equal in power. Milaugh and Young shanks were same strength and rivals. Like prime mihawk and vista

Well I mean the phrase is something like stand shoulder to shoulder. I don't know how that translates over to english since I'm not well versed enough in japanese to make actual translations. 肩 を 並べた, is the phrase in question if you want to search up definitons yourself.

why are you posting mistranslated non-canon text as evidence which has nothing to do with Oda or his editors? Are you also going to screenshot people's posts and use it as evidence? lol
it's as canon as vivre cards bud, and mistranslated but I got it from etenboby
"実力者normally just mean a powerful being. I think it’s just saying that he’s strong enough to fight equally against an admiral level opponent despite having no df."

From what I remember it says he rivalled Roger and was one of the Top Guys in his era. Shiki downplayers have a hard time when multiple sources are confirming that he was a rival to Roger and an equal in Strength.

Iirc the Ace novel also confirmed that Shiki, Roger and WB were engaged in a three way power struggle in the NW and that in a time where Linlin was in her physical prime.

Odacchi! Congratulations! They're doing another One Piece movie. But this time, it's your script, right? I'm really looking forward to it!! ...and, when I was watching the movie trailer on my computer I heard the word "Kinjishi" come up - but isn't that the flying pirate who broke out of jail 20 years ago that Sengoku mentioned in chapter 530!? There has to be some connection, right!?
O: Yes. "Kinjishi". Actually, I really wanted to have his name come up in the scene where Shirohige talks to Shanks in volume 45. But I thought at the draft level that I was handing out too much information and confusing the readers, so I took it away - but in my mind, I have determined that he is one of the legendary pirates who played a big part during Roger's time. Though I didn't think I'd make a movie about him. In any case, "Kinjishi" escaped from Impel Down, and now that 20 years have passed, he's finally starting to make a move, and that's what the movie is about. There's an announcement on page 192.

Oda word that Shiki is a legendary pirate from Rogers era.

Shiki is/was a top tier

> Sengoku was viewing Shiki as a rival, same way Garp was doing with Roger

>Garp and Sengoku tag-teamed against him in a battle portrayed to have lasted long enough half of marineford was destroyed(and that was after taking out majority of their subordinates)

> Only pirate to have ever singlehandily escaped Impel Down even after losing to Garp and Sengoku, even after self-severing his limbs
