Powers & Abilities Top tier = Awakened fruit?

The amount of people I have seen making baseless assumptions that a devil fruit user is awakened simply because they are top tier has been bothering me so I want to see the consensus of who believes this.

• Examples: “I can’t wait to see Kizaru’s awakening”
• “Blackbeard will be overpowered with his Yami awakening”
• “Aokiji and Akainu are awakened” (the only one that’s plausible)

Like based on what are you under the impression that they are awakened? The way awakenings have been portrayed and talked about it’s a mutation of some sort, a literal awakening. Being strong doesn’t mean your DF is awakened

If that were the case, Whitebeard would have been stated to be awakened, he’s literally a legend called the strongest man in the world.

Kaido, Big Mom, Fujitora, Sengoku, or any of the admirals would have already been stated to be awakened if that were the case. Literally every awakened DF user has made it known, EXCEPT the Impel Down guards who never said a peep. Movie villians and all. Katakuri, Doffy, Bullet, and Tesoro come to mind. Crocodile lowkey implies he is and is the awakening expert seemingly

This is more annoying than the new belief that you need Conquerors Haki to be a top tier but knowing Oda he will continue to handout CoC to every powerful fan favorite and make it true. Sabo, Law, Mihawk and Yamato fans rejoice

There are top tiers as Garp and maybe Roger that doesn't even have DF. So awakening is defenitely not necessary. Haki is the power system of One Piece not DF.

Rayleigh, Shanks, Mihawks all top tiers without DF too.

Rayleigh and Mihawk aren't true top tiers, they can't hang in extended 1vs1s with a realistic chance of winning against yonkos, neither can Kizaru/Fujitora/Greenbull/Marco.

Shanks fought Mihawk to a draw when he was far weaker than he is now and had far less haki mastery than before, so no.
Shanks wouldn't struggle with Jozu or Vista like a clown, trying to measure up against sickbeard, when Shanks already did measure up against oldbeard, massive portrayal gap.

Mihawk doesn't have CoC, let alone advanced CoC. So no.
Shanks doesn't consider himself a swordsman, if he did, he'd be the strongest, but kind of unfair to use a genetic based ability against the genetically irrelevant and consider that swordsmanship.

Because they lost control of their DF. I would bet if the ones who have CoC are able to control their DF awakenings. Not only Zoans but all DF. Makes sense to me. So far only Doffy and Katakuri showed awakening forms and both had CoC.
I'm betting both Akainu and Aokiji has too and their awakenings were probably showed at Punk Hazard.

Mihawk doesn't have CoC because he didn't showed is stupid. Oden never showed and has it. WB too. Roger too. Sengoku too. Probably Garp, Akainu, Aokiji has too.

But he didn't taught Zoro is very odd. Would be terrible writing, same as Rayleigh didn't teaching Luffy advanced haki but knowing himself.
