I mean even if we say Kaido wasn't serious until the one on one, that means that Luffy and four other guys still weren't doing it for him after he'd already fought the Scabbards. So Luffy was just another one of them until that slight upgrade, and even then Kaido says he didn't stand a chance. How does that put him above a guy who was carrying him all around the battlefield after his stamina went?

the thing is that, luffy along with zoro was better than anyone else in rooftop, and the upgrade luffy got isnt just a slight upgrade but a major one. imo basic coc punch>=kong gun
