Questions & Mysteries Lady Toki's purpose

#1
Chapter 964 has given us more insightful revelations on Lady Toki...

She came from 800 years ago into the past and traveled in time to a certain island, and right from the start, her main objective was to go to Wano. But what is her link to Wano? Why Wano specifically? Other things also seem to subtly emphasize this link.

Right in her introduction, she wears an outfit that's full of the "crescent moon" symbols.. Coincidentally, the Kozuki Clan has also been associated with a similar "crescent moon" symbol throughout the story, and this might give a subtle hint that she already had a link - not just with Wano - but also the Kozuki Clan before she even went to Wano in the first place - possibly 800 years ago as well.

And not only is she linked to the void century and Wano, but she is also linked to Roger, and - given that she came with Oden to Roger's crew later on - she's definitely one of the people who knew the true history of the world, like Roger, Rayleigh and Oden..

Perhaps she may have even compared what she had witnessed in the past, to what was also written.

- What could Lady Toki's purpose in the story be, 800 years into the future?
- What could be her motive to go to Wano 800 years later? Perhaps she was asked to, maybe it was her home?
- Why 800 years into the future?

Another thing to note is, Oden decided to open Wano's borders before he returned to Wano; he met Lady Toki before joining Roger, and knew the true history during his voyage. Could Lady Toki somehow have partly influenced Oden's decision to open Wano's borders?

Is this confirmed? Due to the timeline, if Oden never returned to Wano until 25 years from the current timeline, then it means Toki would've conceived both her children while onboard Pirate ships. That would be too dangerous. During the mini flashback of 959, there's no sign of Toki.

Neko and Inu joined Roger pirates too but leaved before the last journey to Raftel the 958* flashback should be after they went to Raftel (cuz it was 25years Ago and Roger died 24 y ago and we know his death happened 1 year after that)
so probably since it was a dangerous journey Oden sent Toki with Momo/Hyori Neko and Inu to Wano (that's my guess at least)

she may have influenced Rogers journey. it is interesting that Toki could have revealed the VC to Roger even before his journey started.

I expect her to drop multiple knowledge bombs on the OP fandom.

Great thread. I think the Amatsuki are maybe the ancestors or ancient name of the current Kozuki clan. So she's one of the original stone masons that created and can read the poneglyphs.

I'm assuming she wants to go to Wano to see what has become of the message they left in the past? Or maybe there's a specific prophecy about 800 years in the future that she was sent here to fulfill? But when she was chased she thought about travelling farther into the future so maybe the 800 years isn't the specific date?

Either way it can go many different routes at this point, and all routes should lead to ground breaking information regarding the endgame of One Piece. I don't think some of the readers realize yet how close we are to getting legitimate information for the first time in the series about Laugh Tale, One Piece, Void Century and The Ancient Kingdom.

Which makes the breaks during this time even worse :lusalty:

Great and high-quality comment as usual bro! I could totally see that happen!!
Actually since last couple of chapters i keep wondering how the hell/where did Oden learn how to carve the poneglyphs coz it doesnt seem (at least based on what we were shown) he learnt it from his father.....? so it could be from Toki, while travelling

Thanks bro. I'm glad you find my memes entertaining.

But I don't think Oden knew how to carve the stones. In chapters 818/819 Neko said that the only thing that was passed down was how to read the Language. Oden took that skill with Roger to Laugh Tale and learned of the truth. But before he could pass down the knowledge to read the language to Momo, he was killed.

Oden knew how to carve stones, he learnt how to do it when he was arrested in his youth, he worked in a stone quarry, until he was running it.

Ah right i forgot about his experience in the stone quarry... thanks for reminding ^^ i still doubt he learnt about the poneglyphs there tho lol

For chapter 818, i dont remember well its content, but i was under the impression the Kozuki clan knew how to carve but not how to read it...? you know like someone else gives the model and they just have the skill to carve, no knowledge of the ancient language itself? but i could be wrong

It's true Wano still has the best stonemasons, but I was referring specifically to the the indestructible stones (Poneglyphs). Momo said it was made by his long-distance ancestors. And probably if he could make them it'd really be of no value because the message that the ancient kingdom wants to send has already been written.

Here's the part from 818 about Oden inheriting the way to read the ancient language.
