Sanji has a lot going for him. People sell him short when they see him purely in relation to Zoro. It’s a trap a lot of Sanji fans seem to fall into. Sanji’s worth does not come from how closely he scales to another character.

I swear i like sanji as a character, but everytime these sanji-fans tried to make some bs claims that sanji is as strong as zoro, they end up getting the black maria treatment.

Thing is, Sanji’s still been strong lol. They’re just so worried about Zoro’s strength by comparison when it’s irrelevant.

Sure Sanji got used as a slight hype tool by Vergo, and by Doffy (who still complimented his strength). But Sanji did that pre TS too. Look at Blueno on the Sea Train. Oda has always used Sanji as a hype tool at times because Oda thinks he’s strong enough for it to make the villains impressive. But when it’s time for his real arc 1v1 fights he’s still always delivered.

Sanji even in WCI displayed some serious feats like when he speed blitzed Oven so bad that to this day Oven still thinks Pound rocked his shit. And Im expecting him to ultimately look very good in the Queen fight (don’t let me down Oda).

Basically I’m saying even if you like Sanji for being strong there’s no reason to stress about his comparison to Zoro. Sanji strength only starts feeling unimpressive if you try to scale to Zoro.

I would take Sanji over any SN that wasn’t on that roof.

Changing the goal post won't do you any good but he will outperform everyone not named Luffy, Kidd, Law and Zoro. But by defeating Queen and Zoro most likely defeating King Sanji will have a close portrayal not equal, Zoro is obviously still more impressive but not too far off. Besides we don't know what else Sanji may due post Queen fight since he obviously won't be out of the arc.

When Oda draws Rayleigh and Gaban side by side being called Rogers two best and then a panel of them raising their arms leading the charge equally against the WB pirates I don't know about you but that shows a grouping. Besides Luffy isn't Roger and his crew dynamic can be different but with the existence of the metal naming in Rogers crew its clear that this is just a case of not knowing enough about Gaban yet that it feels like he was a third wheel but if Oda wanted to highlight Roger and Rayleigh as a duo he could have easily kept it at Gold and Silver......but he didn't....and that's the point. Rayleigh's official role in the crew was that of a Vice captain, Zoros is combatant and those are not the same. We see BOTH Zoro and Sanji being the two highlighted as the last lines of defense when the captain is down, carrying the crew on their shoulders until Luffy returns.....it seems to me that this is a clear depiction equal power and authority between Zoro and Sanji, think about it like this, couldn't Luffy back at Sabaody easily have told Zoro to take Sanji and the crew under his lead?......but he didn't, rather told BOTH Sanji and Zoro to lead their own groups......this is how Luffy views them which means that's how Oda views them. No duo in the entirety of this manga is as highlighted as Zoro and Sanji.....and there is a reason for that, screaming GAGS GAGS will only take you so far until you reach Thriller Bark and you watch as ONLY Zoro and Sanji are left to defend their crew and captain.....but why Oda?....why have Sanji there as well?.......ever ask yourselves why Oda sat down and wrote Sanji in that scene........or was it secretly a gag scene?. It isn't, doriki only measures physical strenght, stated in Manga itself.
Jinbe can have more doriki than Law because he's a brawler and Law is weaker physically but still gets low diffed by him
