FIRST FIGHT

Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders
Thomas Shelby is adventurous, yet a vigilant man. He is someone who can be very shrewd and is filled with ambition but balances it with a reserved yet deep sincereness and compassion for his family. For a setting of 1920s England, a World War 1 Veteran may not be what you expect to be the boss of an infamous criminal organization.

Competence is a trait that flows through the blood of Thomas Shelby as he consistently outsmarts his enemies and develops plans to allow the Peaky Blinders, the crime organization, to be in the most advantageous position. Never rash, but bold in action. Always cool and level-headed, allowing him to stay in control of situations even if it appears he is in a losing situation.

Now, of course, even as witty and competent a man Thomas Shelby is, he is not perfect and is certainly not impervious to failure. Causing a war between a rival family; unable to keep his sister and her husband safe leading them to be used as collateral against him by the policemen; deceived by a barmaid spy with who he fell in love. And that only marks the tip of the iceberg, for admittedly by his own words he made a big mistake: Mingling with Russian business. You see, in the prior setbacks, Tommy was able to resolve his problems and always come out on top with gains. However, this one mistake has caused everything to come crashing down. The murder of his wife, his family getting arrested, son kidnapped to use as blackmail against him. Tommy's cleverness has led to the Peaky Blinders reaping major rewards, but now it has also led to major devastation. Thomas Shelby is as imperfect as you can get. Being the boss of a major crime organization, he has certainly reaped what he was sown.

With all that being said, it is through how he overcomes the obstacles in his path that makes him such a great and captivating character. He is resourceful and innovative in his actions, allowing him to outduel his opponents without needing a sword. When life gives Thomas Shelby lemons, he makes lemonade.

Vote for Thomas Shelby. By order of the Peaky Blinders.

VS

Edward Elric FMAB
Character Analysis:

Edward Elric is an example of a character that doesn’t necessarily have a complex ideology or philosophy, but he is written extremely well.

All of Edward’s philosophy, and the way he is, is the result of the tragic event that happened to him. When trying to transmute their dead mothers back, Edward and his brother Alphonse lose their bodies. This event is what paves the way he becomes later on in the series.

One of the things about tragic characters is that it always feels like they are blaming the cruel world on why the things are this way. But Edward is not this way, Edward takes all the blame for everything he has done. Even then, he still keeps moving forward. From Nina and Alexandar, to the events of Liore and so on. He, even though takes the blame for pretty much everything, always looks for a change- to make himself better. Him taking blame for everything is also one of the reasons he doesn’t trouble others or use the Philosopher’s stone to get their bodies back, because it uses the lives of other people, they are killing someone because of their own fault.

That’s one of the reasons I always liked Edward Elric. His determination. He will do everything to do what he thinks is right, and will always avoid doing anything that contradicts his philosophy and his beliefs. “Nothing equals a human life” is what he learnt from the devastating event of him resurrecting his mother. He always followed this philosophy, abstaining from using the Philosopher’s stone.

Edward is also kind and pure hearted- because of him experiencing hell that day. Edward never passes up to do the good deeds no matter how small they are. He likes to help people because he doesn’t want other people to suffer the same fate as his. The reason he said those rough words to Rose in Liore is because he doesn’t want her to suffer hell like he did.

Edward has the ability to change. Edward can change others and himself, while staying true to his core beliefs and ideology. He went from someone who thinks alchemy can fix everything and doing everything by himself, to understanding that human were given bonds in order to not do everything by themselves. He effects other characters with his kindness and determination- changing Scar, Mustang, Winry, Alphonse etc. etc.

His personality is also incredibly likeable. He is mature for his age, but he doesn’t let go of humour- one of the main human emotions. He is extremely likeable and respectable. He is really relatable too. I think every one of us see even a littile bit of Edward within us.

Character development:

In the beginning:

- Edward believes in the idea that alchemy can solve your problems.
- Edward believes that alchemy can only be used to do good. He believed that since he dabbled in human transmutation, he was punished.
- Edward decides to restrict himself to the laws of equivalent exchange and decides to follow the rules that have already been paved.

In the end:

- Edward comes the conclusion that alchemy cannot solve every problem; rather, giving up his ability to use alchemy to save his brother. This implies that at the end of the story Ed values his friends and family first, and then knowledge.
- Through his tragic experiences with Nina Tucker, he came to the conclusion that alchemy is a tool, something that can be used for good, however is equally capable of doing horrendous things.
- In the end of Brotherhood, we learn that Ed and Al decides to go east and west of Amestris to gain a better grasp of what alchemy truly is, after Father was able to neutralize Ed’s alchemy.
- He learns these lessons through his experiences, and develops as a character over the duration of the show.

Personality:

- His “if there’s a will, there’s a way” is something that is iconic about him as he is determined to get his and his brother’s body back.
- He very selfless, willing to give up parts of his body to get his brother’s body back when the human transmutation fails in the first episode. In fact, the only thing driving him throughout this journey is to get Al’s body back.
- He hates being called short.
- He hates drinking milk.
Ed not wanting to admit his feelings for Winry.

In conclusion, I think why Ed is such a brilliant character is because I can see some parts of myself in him, and I think a number of people in the audience can see themselves in Edward to, making him a relatable character. We’ve all at one point gone to lengthy distances to achieve a goal. We are all currently learning new things as we go on with life. At one point we have all experienced the first girl/guy that we liked. This, I believe is the beauty within Edward Elric’s character.

SECOND FIGHT

Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty
Character Introduction
Name: Rick Sanchez
Calling him a genius scientist would be an heavy understatement. In short he is Iron Man aka Tony Starks times infinity. He even drinks like him, infact he is drunk almost all the time. Yet he carries around a Portal Gun in his pocket that he invented along with other cool stuffs. He can freely travel through Multi_verse. He even has been banished from his own Council of Ricks from Multi-Verse. He is not your typical MC though. He invented so many cool stuffs and technology which bypasses our current technology by millennia but he likes to keep it to himself.
In short, Tony Stark made his first Iron Suit in a cave with a scraps however, Rick built a suit that was so capable he took on the White House with it. This feat becomes more crazy upon learning that he started to build that suit in a sewer while he was turned into a pickle (of course he did it to himself though).

Background: He left his wife and daughter some 20 years ago and suddenly appeared in his daughter's doorsteps. Nothing much is revealed.

Why is he the best: He is the most realist person ever on TV. Some of his quotes may further prove it;
-"I'm sorry but your opinion means very little to me."
-"Weddings are basically funeral with cakes."
-"The universe it little too big to care about something so small."

There's too much of him to put here. But you've got some ideas.
Here's one of his favorite moment of him:

VS

Lelouch Lamperouge

For those of you who are not familiar with the character, Lelouch Lamperouge is the main protagonist of a decade-old anime, Code Geass. The series takes place in an alternate version of our own world, with its own alternate history to boot. In this world, the empire of Britannia rules over a large part of the world with an iron fist. Citizens of the mainland empire consider people from other countries, like the story’s main setting of Japan, to be inferior, and thus treat those people like trash. And that brings us to Lelouch.

Lelouch is the son of the Emperor of the totalitarian nation of Britannia. After his mother is killed and his little sister blinded and crippled he was sent to the nation of Japan as a hostage. He ends up under the care of the leader of the nation, until him and his little sister can escape. After Britannia invades Japan, fearing that they will again be used as pawns, he hides his little sister with a Britannian noble family, the Ashford’s. Lelouch hides in plain sight, pretending to be an ordinary Britannian school student in Japan, when in reality, he is actually a royal prince of the empire placed in exile. Wanting to exact revenge on his father for exiling him and despairing on the inside over the plight of the Japanese people, Lelouch feels powerless…until one fateful day. Circumstances lead to a chance meeting with the mysterious woman, C.C., who grants him the power of Geass, a supernatural ability that often has an effect on the mind and consciousness. Lelouch’s geass, to put it simply, is to command another person to do as he says, but the power can only work on an individual once. With his newfound power and the intelligence with which he was born, he could now face off against Britannia and do what he set out to do upon his exile.

See, Lelouch is a brilliant young man. He has a strategic mind that is almost unmatched, even among the Britannian royal family. He had a great deal of siblings, and each and every one of them regarded him with respect. Many hated him, given the fact that his mother was not of noble birth. However, they respected his intellect in a profound way. His oldest brother, Schneizel, says that Lelouch was a brother who “I both loved and feared.” He was the only one who was able to stand tall to his intellect in games like chess. His brilliant mind is his most valuable asset, but it is not his only one.

Upon acquiring the Geass, Lelouch sets out to do what he wanted. In order to achieve that he creates a masked persona called Zero. He never shows his face to his allies, since he knows that they wouldn’t trust a Britannian. And if they ever found out that he is a Britannian prince, they would likely kill him. Thus, his masked campaign to bring down Britannia begins.

There is a constant battle within Lelouch over how far to go with his revolution. As he goes further and further, he is forced to make harsher and harsher choices.
Over the course of the series, Lelouch often finds himself having to test his morals to great extents. Someone who simply wanted to bring a better world for his sister slowly comes to the realization that, in his world, it all cannot simply be done by just means. As time goes on, he finds himself struggling to do what is right and starts doing what is necessary to achieve his goals, even if those acts are acts of evil. While he realizes that some of the things that he did were wrong, his attempt at creating a safer world could not have been done any other way. Lelouch feels the guilt in all that he does. He knows that he has sinned. Lelouch transcended the boundary between hero and villain.

He builds himself up as the worst tyrant in the world. He destroys any and all rivals that oppose him. He uses his Geass to enslave thousands upon thousands of people. He betrays his friends and the world, and unites the world under his tyrannical reign. And then, Zero, the symbol of justice, shows up and slays him. With this, the world is able to move forward and make peace. Nunnally is the kind hearted empress, Suzaku is the protector of Nunnally and the symbol of justice, and Schneizel is the master strategist and politician.

Lelouch, the devil himself, sacrifices everything for the sake of his sister's world. His name will be remembered in hatred. His legacy will be tainted. His very existence will be remembered as a mistake upon the world. But that doesn't matter.

For the sake of world peace, destruction must come before creation.

THIRD FIGHT

Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan
Eren starts as an underdeveloped character but over time, he becomes more and more complex and one of the best characters in the manga/anime. He went from an annoying whiny brat with anger and psychological issues to a stoic dangerous guy who would kill anyone who stood in his way to freedom.

Early on, all he did was rush into fights and get beaten by stronger and smarter people, all this because he couldn't control his hatred towards the titans. At one point, he starts to feel pain and guilt for allowing so many people to sacrifice their lives for him. This also causes him a mental breakdown. He manages to recover and become confident and more disciplined and became the biggest asset to humanity on Paradise Island. He also accepts the fact that people have to suffer and die for him to achieve his ultimate goal of gaining freedom.

VS

Shigeo Kageyama aka Mob // Mob Psycho 100
Emotions are powerful. Positive or negative, emotions can serve as a source of strength. They can awaken fears, unearth hidden weaknesses, and be used as a source of happiness and joy. Now imagine the possibilities of power if a person can weaponize their emotions; enter Shigeo Kageyama, aka Mob. Mob is an esper; in other words, he's a human who naturally possesses psychic abilities. The unique aspect of Mob is that his psychic powers are intrinsically linked to his emotional state. Anger, sadness, gratitude, courage, ecstasy, and trust are some of the emotions Mob struggles with as he navigates his daily life. However, after experiencing an incident involving his psychic powers at a younger age, Mob has subconsciously sealed away his emotions as a means to control his psychic abilities better and protect others. If Mob finds himself in situations where he might experience a particular emotion, he tends to focus on that feeling until it erupts from his body in a wave of psychic expression.

From the reader's perspective, Mob has a percentage counter that visually represents his emotional state. 0%, he's living his best life and carrying on as the rest of us do. 50%, Mob is inundated by whatever emotion he is experiencing. 100%, he can no longer suppress his feelings and experiences a psychic explosion. His powers are immensely amplified in this state, and Mob is virtually unstoppable until his emotions subside. If you're the one who got him in the state, well good luck to you. After he expels that emotion, Mob returns to his normal form, and his counter resets to 0%.

Overall, Mob is just a normal kid trying to navigate the tumultuous life of a teenager. He is fully aware of how dangerous his powers can be, so he tries to apply the lessons learned through previous explosions to better control his powers and live the kind of life we all truly deserve.

FOURTH FIGHT

Guts from Berserk
Guts..

He's known by many names, though most know him as the Black Swordsman. But also a more befitting title granted to him by the Skull knight; "The Struggler"

Guts starts out as a nobody, and not just a nobody, he was abandoned at birth, and was said to be born a cursed birth. For the most of his childhood he was abused and used, sold off by his own father to be raped, and more.

He is a man who was born with nothing, he had nothing, but he kept on living as a mercenary and his skills as a fighter over the years became nothing to trifle with. All changes when Guts meets a famous band of Mercenaries, the Band of the Hawk.
There Guts finally finds a place for himself where he belongs, a place he could call home, where he finds the band to be his own family. They fought alongside each other, and fought under Griffith's leadership.

However, all that would come to change one fateful day when Guts wanted to go his own path, thankful for all Griffith has done for him. One can safely say that what's to come was nobody's guess.

One fateful day it all changes.. Guts will be exposed to the worst trauma of his life. His family, the Band of the Hawk, all raped and murdered by demons, in front of his very eyes.
Guts couldn't save anyone. Now Branded by the demons, his fate is to be hunted by demons as their prey for the rest of his life. He will never know peace again.

Guts is a very troubled man, with many problems, so much so it's hard to call him a hero. Guts have done evil things, and is far from any saint, nor does he pretend to be. Driven by revenge he seeks to destroy the demons who took away everything from him.
He Struggles against fate, which is why he has the sobriquette of "The Struggler".

He walks a path to struggle against fate, he wants to break the chains and be free once more..

VS

Luffy
well of course my pick is luffy and its kind of a no brainer, Luffy is in my opinion the perfect that I could get out of an MC. Luffy values friendship over everything just like me. he doesn't wanna be a hero if it costs him his friends and that why I like him so much. Luffy symbolizes freedom for me, but the entirety of one piece does that as well. the hardships and tough moments that luffy went through to become who he is shows how people can face tough situations and still come out on top and that's why I like him so much

I'll be honest, Code Geass and its main character sound interesting. Might want to check it out.
