it was never inferred.. its safe to assume he learns it while mastering enma... training tool indeed..

if you think about it the premise has been laid for it.. ryou is the flow of haki through something.. and as depicted by luffy's Acoa coating requires that flow..

Enma does the work for zoro it exudes haki..and envelops his sword..

if he masters enma then he can apply this phenomenon to his other swords
