It makes absolutely no sense for both of these fights to be the major contribution of these 4 Supernova for this arc for the following reasons:
1. Killer vs Hawkins and Drake vs Apoo had no setup, which suggests that they’re just time-wasting fights and not actually important. Drake and Apoo had absolutely no interactions until they suddenly started fighting, so there’s no emotional investment in the fight other than Drake saying he thinks Apoo is annoying. Killer may hold a bit of a grudge against Hawkins for not sticking with him and Kid, but Killer should understand that it was Apoo’s fault that they were put in that situation and that Hawkins just made the logical, but cowardly, choice in order to save himself. If Oda really wanted Killer to gain a W over any Supernova, he’d have had him fight Apoo instead considering that Apoo, and not Hawkins, is the reason why him and his crew got beaten and captured, as well as why he was forced to eat a defective SMILE and serve Orochi.
2. Their fights would achieve nothing. Why include these 4 in the arc if you’re just gonna have them fight each other? This problem could have very easily been solved by just not writing Hawkins and Apoo into the Beast Pirates and the Wano arc, and it’s not like Oda just really wanted to draw a cool fight between these guys, considering that he has been giving these fights zero screentime and obviously doesn’t care about them too much.
3. Oda doesn’t like drawing Supernovas beating each other in a fair fight. Sure, Oda will portray some better than others, but even if there is a very obvious power gap between the two, Oda doesn’t like drawing a SN straight up beating another SN because it destroys the illusion that they’re all supposed to be rivals. Hence why Oda didn’t have Zoro vs Hawkins have a conclusion. Hence why Oda had Zoro vs Kamazo not be a fair fight since Killer was nerfed and Zoro was distracted by Gyukimaru, and even then the fight ended with both of them getting KOed. Law and Hawkins had an inconclusive fight and later in the arc, Law did beat Hawkins, but this was obviously because Drake secretly freed Law without Hawkins knowing, and then Law probably ambushed Hawkins, so obviously not a fair fight. Oda didn’t even let Luffy beat Apoo, even though he should clearly be stronger. Zoro didn’t even get to beat Apoo since Apoo got up right after Zoro’s slash. Oda won’t draw Killer and Drake beating Hawkins and Apoo
4. Why give Drake so much build-up for this arc if all he’s gonna do is one shot a Number and fight Apoo? Drake’s role in the Wano arc has been hyped up ever since PH when he was included in Caribou’s cover story and revealed to be working for Kaido. Why hype up his appearance in Wano that much if all he’s gonna do is fight Apoo off screen? That would be extremely underwhelming
5. Apoo has already been set up to eventually abandon the Beast Pirates since Queen forced him to be chased down by an entire army just for the sake of his own amusement, and then tried to shoot Apoo when he failed.
6. Toki’s 9 shadows prophecy is unfulfilled. Obviously it wasn’t referring to the Scabbards since they did jack shit to Kaido. The prophecy is referring to Luffy, Zoro, Kid, Killer, Law, Drake, Hawkins, Apoo, and Yamato, who will be the ones to take down the 2 Yonko.
These two fights are just designed to remove the 4 SNs from the story until Oda decides that he needs them for the important stuff
