Speculations Why Brook VS Who's-Who and Jimbei VS Jack is still a possibility

#1
With the match-ups wrapping up, I want to give my two cents on why I believe Jimbei and Who's-Who may switch opponents before it reaches its conclusion (presumably the next chapter).

1) Who's-Who has adjacent parallel portrayal to Sasaki.

Who’s-Who may edge out Sasaki, but he’s closer to him than he is to Jack. (This is NOT to say Who's-Who wouldn’t hold his own against the weakest Disaster.)

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-981-page-10.html

Sasaki struggles with Franky.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-1004-page-7.html

It's argued on here that Jimbei's closer to Franky than the M3, which leads me to my next point.

2) Jimbei's clearly Luffy's third strongest like Jack is for Kaido.

Pre-series Jimbei tied with pre-WB Ace…

…who fought evenly with Yamato beforehand.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-999-page-6.html

Regardless if Oda's keeping the M3 (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji), he is still portrayed as Luffy's top men.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-989-page-14.html

In fact, he accompanied Luffy to the rooftop alongside Sanji.

3) Jimbei VS Who's-Who began like Sanji "VS" Black Maria.

Sanji departs for his fake opponent, Black Maria.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-997-page-5.html

Jimbei stays behind to handle Who's-Who (his fake opponent?). Furthermore, its foretold conclusion doesn’t entail a defeat.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-998-page-10.html

4) Brook matches Who's-Who thematically.

There's no point in going over Jimbei and Jack being number fours and Fishman, but Brook and Who's-Who's affinity may go deeper than swordsmanship.

Who’s-Who’s chest tattoo links to the Marys’ eye mask and one is even part of his crew (https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-981-page-10.html). While they may not be literal jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampires), they resemble to them. If true, Who's-Who's crew is themed around necromancy (in name). Who else is themed around necromancy? What's Brook's Devil Fruit powers and epithet?

To go further, Who's-Who's has likeness to the devil (his attire is red not black). Brook was mistaken for the literal Satan.

https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-Digital-Colored-Comics-chapter-524-page-5.html

So:

Robin & Black Maria = Multi limbs & females
Franky & Sasaki = Armor
Jimbei & Jack = Number Fours & Fishmen
Brook & Who's-Who = Necromancy & the occult

5) Who's-Who and Black Maria are grouped together and may be mirrored by Brook and Robin's current pairing.

In all three Oda-approved images, it's Who's-Who & Black Maria, Drake & Sasaki, and Ulti & Page One.

6) Who's-Who is a floor above Black Maria who is a floor above Jack.

I'm not posting manga pages. It's already an established fact.

7) Inuarashi is bound to fail against Jack.

It takes Inuarashi and Nekomamushi working together to beat Jack as each Duke is barely his equal indivually, yet for some reason, Oda leaves Inuarashi alone with Jack.

Perospero hinted doinging Marco dirty against King and Queen (whom Chopper took off of his hands).
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-1006-page-18.html

We have foreshadowing of a Chopper fight and a new power up.
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-1014-page-6.html

Who does Chopper fight? The Numbers? You mean Jailer Beast–esque fodder Oda forgot about. A recovering Page One? You mean a guy too cripled to push Chopper's into using a new power-up? The best choice is Perospero, the guy who gave Chopper shit when he held off Queen. I know I came up with the Ice Oni Drake theory, but Drake is busy toying Apoo. It complements Killer fighting Hawkins as it's Zoro and Sanji's Supernova opponents versus Kid's backstabbing Supernova allies.

Why bring up Chopper's fight? Neko is coming for Perospero's candy ass, and we know the only way for Chopper VS Perospero to happen is if Neko gets screwed over. If Neko and Marco are getting screwed over, chances are, so will Inuarashi.

Conclusion

Am I a 100% believer in this? Not really. Who's-Who's Rokushiki is a perfect contrast to Jimbei's Fishman Karate, so time will tell (sooner than later).

Initially, I believed Jimbei will recognize Who's-Who as an enemy whom he was on friendly terms with. They depart to take care of Jack and help Black Maria respectively. This idea, I must admit, was stupid. My new idea? Jimbei overpowers Who's-Who. After defeating Inuarashi, Jack supports Who's-Who either to answer his cries for help or orders from higher ups. Who's-Who would stay, but he leaves to help Black Maria capture Robin (maybe to accomplish what Lucci couldn't).

If I take an L or W, please don't gloat about it in this thread until the chapter is out.

Wanna know an interesting theory?

Jinbe vs Who's Who is on the 4th floor

Brook/Robin vs Black Maria is on the 3rd floor

Inu vs Jack is on the 2nd floor.

What if any of the fights above breaks 2 floors and causes the fights to be mixed up?

Essentially one scenario could be Jinbe or WsW break the floor below them with some massive Shockwave attack, or another could be Jack doing some insane move that defeats Inu but also breaks the floors above him. Same with Black Maria, maybe she attacks both directions.

Think Kaku falling through the floor with Zoro to Jabra and Usopp. It switched up their fights and led to something else. Jinbe would fall down with WsW. Brook too. Robin stays on the 3rd floor. Maybe if Inu is down, Jinbe realizes he's the strongest needed for Jack, while asking Brook and Robin if they can handle their opponents individually.

This is essentially still one of my two guesses. The other is Yamato being defeated or holding off Kaido long enough for Luffy to return, prompting her eventual fight with Jack. But imo there isn't a feasible way to force her back down exactly to the 2nd floor unless Oda just has Kaido do it by breaking the floors himself to send her back down.

Idk, I'm like 70% sure it's either Jinbe or Yamato. Inu winning doesn't lend itself a lot of confidence. Jack has extremely high recovery, a hidden hybrid, and maybe awakening. I'm not sure how Oda is supposed to make a damaged Inu win.

As for Chopper I'm not sure. I want to see if Page 1 or Ulti get back up first for Usopp and Nami, as Usopp received zero growth moments or had additional focus on his haki. Maybe he joins there, maybe he fights all the Numbers (though I still think those 10 are being reserved for all 10 Scabbards, including Kanjuro, to take them out in big spreads), or maybe he does fight Pero (though I think the theme truly is Strawhats vs Beast Pirates). I am truly stumped by a few of these remaining matchups though, especially Jack, Chopper, Usopp, Page 1, Nami and Ulti.

Killer vs Jack looks pretty likely to me imo, unless the theme is Straw Hats vs Beasts Pirates.
Also possible, but that would require Hawkins to stop pursuing Killer.

I do still believe it's possible that once the island lands, the Big Mom Pirates are waiting and join the war. By some additional event, Hawkins and Apoo switch sides. Then you can have:

- Kid/Law vs BM
- Killer vs Smoothie
- Drake or Apoo vs Perospero
- Drake or Apoo vs Compote
- Hawkins vs Snack

As an example. Still pretty stumped on that one too. Idk what Oda wants to do with them or the Numbers. They are still technical factors this arc for matchups.

True but Nami has a power up in Zeus now and Usopp will too.

At this stage in the war Namis Zeus would cause a lot of damage to any Tobi Roppo. Jack is used to being slapped with heavy amount of damage so he can probably take it and lead to Usopps power up.
Nami's role in the arc is done. It may have been lackluster, but it's done.

Usopp will probably fight the numbers with Chopper or do nothing.

I was partial to Brooke fighting that dude thats fighting Raizo but it looks like Brooke is just gonna play support for Robin
Maybe, maybe not. We gotta remember how many times fights have switched this arc already:

- Yamato vs Ulti, then Sasaki, now Kaido
- Zoro vs Apoo, then BM/Kaido, now likely King
- Killer vs BM/Kaido, now Hawkins
- Inu vs Kaido, now Jack
- Marco vs BM and Peros, then King and Queen, now just King
- Sanji vs Black Maria, now Queen
- Chopper vs Queen, now nobody (for now)

This who arc has been a mishmash of random skirmishes before official fights. We still can't even be sure fights are solidified to what they are still, outside of those that are painfully obvious.

I'd say there still is a chance for WsW to be passed off to Brook, and Jinbe to go down and fight Jack. They are direct floors above each other (Jack on the 2nd, Brook on the 3rd, Jinbe/WsW on the 4th), maybe some big moment happens and it switches.

I'll be disappointed to settle for that. Luffy leaves Wano so that only three can fight veterans and two can fight YC's while the other four are useless?
If any SHs deserve true 1v1’s, it’s Brook and Robin. They’re the only SHs who haven’t won serious 1v1’s yet, and no I’m not counting joke matchups like Robin vs Yama or Brook vs Zeo, which weren’t competitive at all
