I expected the usual pacing complaints, but strangely people are upset about Kaido looking too weak.
I think they misunderstood a simple fighting sequence. The manga gives us close ups of Kaido's eyes going white. His dragon face is disfigured by the Gatling in a funny manner. He uses a drunk Boro Breath that misses its mark. You were supposed to think Luffy was actually going somewhere here. He came into Wano as the 5th emperor. Luffy kept repeating the same punches and didn't try more excessive moves because he thought Kaido was feeling it and couldn't avoid the damage. Kaido never looked like Superman here.
The shock comes when Oda flips the script and the fight ends abruptly. Kaido stops being drunk. He's bored of Luffy's shit. He whips out his weapon, then unleashes a named haki attack. Luffy got Bellamy'd.
