So the anime shows us Zoro being casual about knocking fodders around with coc and it was demonstrated as it is CoC and not the liquor they drank (duh).. and so arguing that zoro doesn't know he has it doesn't make sense.


is this supposed to be treated as some ONLY ANIME thing or was this pre-planned by oda to make such drastic inclusion in the anime that wouldn't potentially be ideal and be anticlimactic when zoro uses Ashura on the roof.

What do yall think of this development, i mean lowkey it disapproves on the notion that KaIDO MuSt Be MiStKen when zoro scars him.. so it gives a clarification that oda won't hypothetically say NAH IT WAS JUST ZORO BEING ZORO TOO INTIMADTING and lump this as a discrepancy in the anime which would be idiotic in the long run.

Imo stuff like this that we see in the anime is kinda canon, it's stuff that Oda wanted to add in the manga but couldn't for x or y reason

Zoro showing CoC in the episode was cool but it ruined the hype. And when Roof Piece will get animated, it will get even more contradicted when Zoro say that he have no idea what Kaido is talking about. So we'll see how Toei gonna handle this.

not really.. we can assume that Zoro had not idea that he was using Acoc or whatever Kaido was taking about.. but didn't realize he was using Acoc.. while actually possessing Coc..

but you know.. if Zoro was told to have Coc in the beginning of the TS it would have been a better take on his Coc...it seems rushed in Onigashima with sudden revelations like these

Well there is plausible deniability

Zoro in the manga already knows what CoC is. Even in Fishman island Zoro already knew what CoC is.

So why did Zoro not even recognize that he used it while fighting Kaido?

It’s because while fighting Kaido, he used a version of CoC even he didn’t know existed. It’s the advanced CoC. That’s why he supposedly used it but didn’t know yet Zoro already knows how basic CoC looks like from seeing Luffy.

So the anime has plausible deniability here. In the anha it already kind of doesn’t make sense that Zoro doesn’t know CoC and the excuse in the manga is that Zoro is using advanced CoC and that’s why he doesn’t know it.

the same excuse works for the anime. Zoro knows about basic CoC and in the anime he can already use Basic CoC. But he didn’t use basic CoC on Kaido. So it remains a surprise to Zoro even in the anime that Kaido is saying he used CoC, simply because both manga and anime Zoro do not know advance CoC exists until they use it

Zoro doesn't know about CoC coating. This is what Kaido was probably referring to but he didn't say like "Wut? U can use CoC coating too?" so he just asked about CoC itself.
