This thread is toxic as hell. I think there's toxicity on both sides, but it stems from an overreaction especially here where people deny Sanji of everything, leading to his fans applying those stringent things to Zoro as well.

Sanji feats in anime are non-canon, while Zoro's are proof of his epicness and foreshadowing.
Sanji being called strong is a "gag", while Zoro's are 100% proof.
Zoro being called number 2 by some dude who just saw him one time is 100% proof, while Black Maria is completely wrong and we know this.
Sanji's Vivre Card saying he's a high class fighter who is like the adviser to the crew is ignored, while Zoro has been promoted to Vice Captain who is second to Luffy.

And then some have audacity, the gall, to come and whinge about Sanji fans before breathlessly rushing to type "Why Sanji can't defeat Mr.1, a thread".

Someone in this thread will argue with their full chest that Black Maria isn't impressed by Sanji's strength, the woman whose crew called him a "Big Shot", and called him "Strong" personally, in a chapter where her looking down on his attitude is the wrong thing to do.

Jinbei and Luffy explicitly saying they believe Sanji has better CoO than them and hyping his abilities.

Another person will argue that Bege doesn't think Sanji's strong

Or that people have no reason to compare Zoro and Sanji and think of them together

And more to the fucking point, why do Sanji fans have to "defend Sanji" again even after this?

There is no good-faith argument to be had, it's just people entrenched in toxicity and misery who will never change their opinions no matter what, and the useless, stupid, lazy mods happy to watch the flames rage out of control for "engagement". As proof, none of the people who said Sanji won; fight Queen have changed their opinion one millimetre, even though it was clear that Sanji was always going to be able to fight Queen and that Sanji has the AP to take on Queen and has had it since Whole Cake Island.

The effect of a single Sanji kick vs a Katakuri Spam attack. If it was the other way round, who's "AP" would be praised here?

if oda wants something he doesnt just give it. its not good writing. if oda wants to give something like CoC to a character he forshadows it for more than 2 arcs before giving it. that forshadowing is not there for sanji.

there are requirements to become CoC user and that is the disposition of a king to aim to rise above others. there are specific character traits which every CoC user has. Pls read the manga before twisting logic to justify sanji having CoC

no its either zoro who tanked hakkai for a second or luffy who took ragnaraku fully head on.



kaido fought 9 scabbards with the best of them (sulong inu, neko) being YC1 level and the worst being YC3 level. he then fought 5 supernova - who are all either YC1 or above level. he is then fighting yamato who is 100% above YC1.

katakuri fought luffy with just G4, no adv armament and observation.

Kaido can regenerate constantly. Also except zoros asura , any attack did not hurt until luffy last punch . Yamato is fighting Kaido , but we did not see any considreable damage on Kaido that given by yamato , beside yamato has some damage on face. yamato just stalling. apparantly, kaidos intention is not kill yamato.

- Hehe Zoro cutting Kaidou, blocking the strongest attack so far, scarring Kaidou, having COC, fighting King after all that shit don't matter.

And people praised him like he's the smartest man in the forum or someshit

They have 0 feats to back their arguments all they have is couple of lines from fodders to say stupid shit like that lmao.

It could also just be the nature of the myth. Ooguchi was a mythological guardian of a specific place. Whereas with all the other mythological zoans were never tied down to one place (which the exception of the seiryu). But as we've seen in Kaido's case, he too has also been talked about in reference to Wano's guardian.

From what I gather, all the other myths have variations and differing stories. Whereas the key defining feature of the Ooguchi is that it was a mythological guardian of a specific place. Oda substituted Mitakesen (the place in the story) for Wano instead.

Sure, but like you pointed out Kaido is also a guardian deity, but he is seen like that not because of his fruit but because of the propaganda Orochi made (iirc), and most people still see him as an oppressor. Meanwhile Kaido talks about Yamato's fruit specifically, as if it was either created for that purpose or gained said purpose because it was used by a previous guardian of Wano, similar to how Shisui became a national treasure. In fact Ryuma was the first thing that came to my mind with all of this, because the Shimotsuki are known for having fox companions, and Yamato's hybrid does resemble a fox more than a wolf imo
