sanji is a scum that doesn't even deserve respect let alone be considered as a rival, he shamed zoro for losing to mihawk, and only had the guts to do it because zoro was heavily injured.

I see a lot of times people saying that people like Sanji and Zoro who don't get along are not rivals, but well this actually goes against one of the most famous stereotypes in Japan.
Japanese people always see people who don't get along as rivals, and this Is showed in numerous mangas, It has even become one of the classics of mangas having two guys who don't get along and who are considered rivals.
First example:
1. Near and Mello.
2. Beerus and Quitela.
3. Natsu and Gray
4. Yuno and Asta
5. Yami and Jack
6. Naruto and Sasuke

It's funny that zoro is the one who initiated this rivalry and even when sanji is not around and gets praised by luffy he has to comment on it and make it known that he is also around . Yet his fans fail to accept that there is a brotherly rivalry between them..first of all they are very close in age ..secondly they have values which opposes each other . They were always bound to be rivals.
nah, sanji is just not a great character, just look at when zoro and luffy got beaten by bellamy, blackbeard saw that as a win and motivated them to seek their dreams and sky island, but if it was for sanji he would have the same reaction as nami and kid luffy, in a display of complete ignorance of manly values.
