It was hyped but it’s fallen sadly short so far. There’s no feeling of urgency or fear. There’s been so many plot device characters just showing up there’s no reason to wonder how they’ll get out of a jam.

1. How will they stop the virus
Marco has just the power that perfectly counters this

2. How will they help the scabbards
Someone’s there’s to heals them then dips

3. How will they deal with the vast number difference
Tama

4. How will Zoro deal with being taken out so early
Magic medicine that was never hinted at

Like there’s been plot after plot that it literally shows the alliance doesn’t need to plan or strategize because plot will rescue them…

--I can only compare it to WCI because I read both weekly and wano is better of the 2 in that way and much better when reading in bulk ; definitely better than lish men arc by a mile for me.......and in a bulk is probably better than dressrossa

--Its not fair to compare post skip arc to pre skip ; pre skip >> post skip by a good margin

The pacing could be better. Oda has too many characters in this arc that is getting too much attention. Dressrosa started this trend of long arcs. It needs to end with Wano. Do we really need an arc that takes 3 yrs to tell??? It also doesn't help that we have to endure the multiple breaks throughout a calendar year.

This sums up why the arc is the worst

Highest expectation by far out of the other NW arcs not even close and falls face flat
Post automatically merged:

@Ten Yaksha Blother Expectation for reality did it for me.

WCI was worse as an overall arc than Wano

BUTTTTT, Wano had such a high ceiling of an expectation and it failed so miserable that it's my worst.

I compare it to an investment. I invest 100K and lose 90K (Wano)
WCI lower expectations I invest 5k and lose all 5K

I was telling our boy @Jew D. Boy, knew WCI was going to be absolute trash so i didnt look further into it. But Wano, which was the arc that was supposed to go to the moon.

To make it worse, Oda separated the crew and then instead of build a couple chapters to build some plotline with them Oda FUCKS it up and has Luffy Tama bullshit and then Luffy ruin everything the crew and company worked so hard to keep undercover for as well in 3 hours because LUFFY PLOT ARMOR BULLSHIT

I've read DR, WCI and Wano both weekly and in one go and I have to say, Wano is just Dressrosa with a stronger cast.

Dressrosa is still the worst of trio. Whole Cake Island was good in the first half up to the Tea Party and them went to shit afterwards. Wano has its moments, but it still leaves behind a trail of disappointment.

Onigashima is part of Wano arc so why are people trying to separate the two? But to answer your question, yes by far the worst arc. And here I thought no arc can be worse than Dressrosa or WCI but Oda proved me wrong. Dressrosa at least had Doflamingo. WCI is just as bad as Wano but it's half as long. Wano though my god, I seriously rather read Fairy Tail or Boku No Hero than this crap. At least in Boku No Hero and Fairy Tail the authors and the fanbase know it's trash but they read it because it is at least entertaining.

I like Wano just fine so far, but I gotta say

FMI I agree was awful as well but..

For me it's expectation vs results

My example is if you invested 1 milliion dollars and lost 700K that's worse than if you invested 10K and lost all of it. That's how I view Wano and it's expectations from my perspective
Fishman Island had a hell of a lot more than 10k worth of expectations put into it

I also agree Oni and Wano are bunched into 1 arc. I think people are trying to separate the two (just my guess) bec Wano was the build up to the war and Oni is the war. Again just my educated guess

I agree with all of this.

Wano just had the high ceiling of expectations, but oda used 3/4 of it as basic fillers and wasted panels. A lot of build ups that fizzled out and a lot of unnecessary cliffhangers. It is cool to have some cliffhangers too, but this just got too obcessive.

For me when you go into an arc having that high of expectation compared to the rest of new world arcs and it falls waaaaaaaay flat then it for me becomes the worst of the worst

I still have faith in Kaido's backstory and the end of the arc in general. Nonetheless SNs vs Kaido and Big Mom feels like a rewarding moment to get to after following the series for so long and that wasn't even suppose to be the peak of the arc. People get to focused on judging chapters individually and forget to enjoy the overall story as a fan.

I have the exact same sentiments especially when Oda build up this specific arc since Punk Hazard. He literally had over 250 chapters of build up for this arc and what did Oda do in the first 70 chapters of Wano? More set up of Wano. I don't know why any author needs 300 chapters of set up. Post time skip one piece has literally become 80% set up.

Kaido's backstory? We are literally over three years into this arc and over 110+ chapters. No backstory is going to save this pathetic arc. It's too late for that. The backstory should have happened 70 chapters ago.
