Because if Zoro returns, he isn’t fighting Kaido, same way none of the scabbards aren’t fighting Kaido again... So what will Zoro do?

Zoro is most definetly fighting kaifo again Kaido has yet to compare to Oden plus zoro said he wanted to kill Kaido

Here is a point that first need to be clarified:
How many chapter do you give in total for Onigashima?

For what I am seeing, Oda is rushing so fast that I see this confict ending pretty soon. No matter the plot point left I ll give this arc in Onigashima max 20 chapters. You will have all small conflict + strawhat fights. Zoro can easy be out for 20 chapters I dont care.
Because the pay off for what come after is just so big that you ll have only that image in your head.

So the point is how many chapters in total? If you say around 15+ to 20 Zoro can easily rest to some places maybe some flashback and then I ll come back to the big moment for the legacy of the next Ryuma in Wano.

If there are more than 20 chapters in Onigashima well I can see Zoro fighting even early Kaido with Luffy or even a solo moment before the big shot over the capital. I dont mind though to see some swordsman vs swordsman confrontation.

I also wished Zoro to undergo a flabbergasting 1 on 1 against Kaido, just to see where he could have pushed him. I have an idea based off my personal calculations, however really a rough one.

Oda instead was like: "let's nerf this man or else this is gonna be nightmerish for the yonko".
