@Jew D. Boy tell em what kind of book they should read
I already did, see??
Y’all can see by my most recent status that I also didn’t know this thread exists...

Anyway, in no particular order:

Dark Matter - a guy finds a mysterious drug that lets him access alternate realities, which leads him into direct conflict with several parallel versions of himself

Will Not Attend - a fairly prolific comedy writer describes his life lived as a cynical curmudgeon (perfect for anyone who relies on sarcasm to communicate)

Your Heart is a Muscle the Size Of a Fist - a fictional telling of real events, follows the intertwining lives of several protesters during a political rally in Seattle in the late 1990s

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - an autistic savant tries to comprehend the confusing world around him while trying to solve the murder of his neighbor’s pet dog

Anything by Haruki Murakami, but specifically, the Wind-Up Bird Chronicle - just a straight mindfuck like all his work, but vivid and intriguing enough to keep you invested

The Art of Fielding - focuses on several college baseball players and the romantic relationships that threaten to ruin their seasons

Our Christmas tree is still in front of the bookcase, so I can’t see most of what I have, and will definitely be returning to this post once we’ve put it up.

Bible is actually an amazing book historically even for non believers
I’ve read most of the second testament and am intimately familiar with the first, so I don’t disagree…but the way a lot of self-professed Christians act when it comes to minorities or the LGBTQIA+ community, I have to wonder how closely they’ve read their own tales. You’re right, that shouldn’t render the text itself useless, just my experience that it isn’t taken in the proper context. This isn’t the appropriate thread for any of my proselytizing, so that’ll be it :emohiyo:
