I think the Jaya arc is the best Luffy and Zoro parallel. Two men who aren't afraid to follow their dreams, but they also recognize that when you are aiming for the top that there are some people not even worth recognizing.

They are rival but never in strenght! Zoro and Sanji never had a fight to know who are the strongest. They are rivals because they have different point of views. For zoro it's his ambition, no matter what it's the most important thing. also zoro has the mentality of "if you are weak, I or anyone won't touch you".
Sanji never really said the word weak to anyone except maybe his ennemies, he can drop anything for the sake of others/himself. Zoro is only for luffy or crew.

I think Usopp is Luffy best friend. I don't think Usopp really helps Luffy grow as a person or leader. Luffy definitely helps Usopp grow.
I enjoy all of their best friend moments. The most recent one is that Luffy is undefeated in Sumo wrestling amongst the crew, yet his only opponent was Usopp. That means the two of them decided to have a Sumo wrestling tournament, but most likely no one else wanted to join.
