I've just realised something while reading through the Kaido Vivre card thread.

When Mihawk was introduced into the story, he was referred to as the world's strongest 3 times in the span of 2 chapters; his intro box officially called him the WSS, and later Sanji and Zeff both referred to him as the world's strongest.

In comparison, since Kaido's introduction, the only time Kaido was referred to as the strongest without his title being treated like a rumor, was when Killer recently called him the strongest pirate.

What reason does Oda have to disrespect Kaido like that?

The blacken blade lore.
I heard from Sandman has a new theory about Hitesu being Oden's father Sukiyaki.

I find funny that Hitesu the one that explain the lore of the blaken blade said that only Zoro can surpass Oden.

If indeed Hitesu is Sukiyaki, the previous Shogun, he would know about what happen to Wano in detail especially what happen to the kuzuki clan and the Shomuzuki clan.

Why did HitesuakaSukiyaki tell Zoro that only him can surpass Oden by blackening Enma? Why was he so sure about that?
Perhaps he saw in Zoro someone of Ryuma caliber - the god sword the only one in Wano able to achieve that. He would have know about Zoro connection to the Shimozuki clan.

If indeed Hitestu is Sukiyaki, what I find even more surprising is the fact taht he wasnt against the idea of giving Enma to Zoro even if he knew that Momosuke should have taken it (due to heritage - previous owner give the sword to their son).

What do you think about this new theory?

This has been around for awhile. And I agree with it, perhaps towards the end of Wano, Sukiyaki explains Zoro’s background a bit more

Zoro Worshipper
Smth to note

Ryuma was WSM prior to him getting any scars/losing his eye. Its likely he got fucked up warding off the WG's invasion on Wano.

Should be a crazy flashback if we ever see it
I think he likely made his legend through legendary battles that go past the simple Dragon slaying so perhaps he fought and conquered several members of the government or Marine of that age.
