Why wouldn't he become an admiral lvl?

It would be perfect for Zolo:
He's using swords
He's got a past with Zolo
Taking on the best swordsman of the marines would fit perfectly for Zolo

I know people deride him for being gullible enough to trust BM, but I don't think he had any reason not to, considering that BM had already married her other children for similar alliances as well. Should he have had a contingency? Yep, but I think he was so consumed with his dream that he didn't use his brains at that moment. Also, he was a peer of Vegapunk and is skilled in so many fields including biology and weaponry.

Not to me, his appearance and battle against Sanji didn't impress me enough to make me believe he was even close to a Top Tier.

It must have been Flower. She was completely into the Vinsmokes and was one of most hardcore "BM will be defeated during WCI arc" supporters using many irrational arguments.

I am not too fond of Sanji's power up being the RS, I would have preferred to see another power up for him and the RS to be something he would only use if he saw no other option.

It´s a pretty popular opinion, just overshadowed by Sanji fans rejoicing that he became relevant combat-wise again.
