Sanji being a cook and his dream of finding the All Blue has no bearings on his strength. People need to stop using that lame excuse. Whitebeard's dream was to have a family. Did that impact his standing in the pirate world???? Sanji and Zoro are on the same level. Its been like this throughout the manga. People just want to downplay Sanji because he is a cook or his dream is not combat related, but when the heavy hitters come for the crew, Zoro and Sanji are always the options after Luffy.
No one truly believes Sanji is Zoros rivals
Die hard Sanjitards know how pathetic sanji is and cling on to Zoros nuts to keep Sanji relevant despite them knowing damn well Sanji is a low diff material for Zoro.

Luffy and Zoro doesn't necessarily make more sense when it goes against the fact Zoro puts Luffy and his dreams above himself and his own aims so how does a rivalry occur?
I always just saw Zoro and Sanji competing stemming from their differences and the fact they're both capable fighters (though obviously Zoro's stronger). It always came off as a result of their issues with each other's behaviour and personalities so the "rivalry" acts as a way for the author to build on their relationship, views and positions in the crew, not so much that they're actually constantly competing strength-wise.
Zoro, Luffy rivalry doesn't really work since Zoro's under Luffy as Luffy's subordinate. We can say they're comparable, strength-wise, and they have mutual respect for one another but ultimately Zoro places Luffy's life and goals above his own so a rivalry isn't necessary and Zoro doesn't see much reason to compete with his own captain. "Luffy seems to have figured something out," is what Zoro said when he was with Sanji and the two placed their hopes on Luffy.

You answered yourself in the beginning LOL
- Zoro was nerfed AP
- They were fighting over food not each other LMAO
- Davy Back Arc was an entire Gag Arc lmao (Foxy was Luffys greatest fights? LRLL was greatest arc?)
- Kaku ate a DF later lmao, And he was a swordsman, Zoan + Swordsmanship not accounted for in a measly kick
- And Zoro still ended up adding a Nothing Happened moment while Sanji was out cold
- King has been in Zoan for 100+ chapters, Queen is already pushed to Hybrid. Also why didn't Kaido take Queen to Marineford lol
Read back with your eyes open where I said that then having a RIVALRY doesn’t mean they are equals in strength. Also please do yourself a favor and read the first post of the damn thread where the OP is trying to make the point that zoro is closer to luffy than he is to sanji and as such the RIVALRY should be between them two.
Jabra’s dourki didn’t take into account his devil fruit either and kaku being a swordsman alone doesn’t put him far ahead in STRENGTH when compared to jabra.
“Nothing happened” is literally irrelevant in this discussion especially since sanji was willing to take the exact same pain

YC1, YC2, YC3 does not exist. This is something fans make up for their headcanons. Zoro and Sanji are fighting King and Queen in a dual battle. Queen held both bounty posters of Zoro and Sanji implying that those two are the dual threats that needs to be dealt with. Sanji inspiring those on the live floor that there is hope they can still win even though Luffy is temporary down. Marco stood down so that Sanji and Zoro can take down the Calamities.
Sanji and Zoro are both leaders of the next era. Zoro being on the roof got people wearing blinders. If Zoro is so great, why is he not still fighting a Yonko?? Will he cross paths with Kaido again??? Maybe. But he has been relegated to fighting a Calamity where his level is along with Sanji.

In EL Zoro fought both Jabra and Kaku at the same time while Usopp latched on to him. Thriller Bark he endures another Warlord while everyone is passed out. And now in Wano, he endured the strongest attack in the series. But ofc ur gonna push that to the side as if Nothing Happened
