Clear foreshadowing. Hell even the snowy wintery background alludes to the name shimotsuki while he is wearing these garments etc. But you are correct about the crane situation though. Which is why it is so beautiful that hiyori who represents the pheasant (the peacock who's is within the same family as the pheasant) instilled the will of her people and her father onto zoro when she gave him enma. In fact going into hiyori being the pheasant actually makes sense since on Japanese mythology the mythical pheasant (Not associated with or should be called a Phoenix) male counterpart is a dragon (her brother momo).

Firsttime that I thinking to take a break like @Buusatan94 did, this is just poor writing at this point. If he really thinking that the reader enjoy such a writing, he is fucking wrong. The rest of the chapter sound good but my mood is off to be happy about it.
