Oda's favorite characters are also the likes of Buggy and Gaimon, and it isn't hard to notice what he loves to draw and what kind of profiles he enjoys writing. And I'd say most of these hard fanboys posting around here are far from fitting Oda's mindset as they are obsessed with made up power levels and pretty much blind at any kind of narrative.

It's not necessarily light speed, but he is the fastest character in the verse. And Marco kept up with him without any sign of struggle during Marineford.

He intercepted one attack (lasers). People are shown to dodge lasers casually. Also, Marco was blitzing King multiple times on screen while dealing with Queen and wasting his flames of resurrection on the alliance. Everything else happened off panel. Yet you make it sound like King beat him in a 1 on 1. And again, Big Mom was clashing with Marco and grabbing him - where is his lightspeed?

Regarding your question of Big Mom vs. Katakuri, she can create big Haki barriers Katakuri cannot shapeshift around, nor pass through with logia intangibility, since it's Haki.
