No it is not. Town, in very specific circumstances, can lie, but to flagrantly lie is to play like scum. Because the whole point of the game is to identify lies that masquerade as truth.

Now in your infinite wisdom, you've exposed a role I think is really strong, forcing me to blow a one shot straight away and basically wasting a week's worth of effort give that I'll probably be dead over day 2.
