I'd have to go with Takehiko Inoue, dude has two top tier mangas in completely different genres. He made arguably the greatest sports manga, and the greatest martial arts/action manga. Excelling at the highest level with two completely unrelated demographics speaks for itself. It also doesn't hurt that his art is arguably the best in the entire medium, and his storytelling hardly lags behind. He basically checks all boxes, it's hard to see anyone else (that I'm aware of) edge him out in this discussion imo.

Honourable mentions to the others who have had success with multiple manga, Togashi and Urasawa. And I think Oda deserves massive credit for drawing for over 2 decades without any major breaks, that's a major feat.

Togarashi and that should be a fact:

Hunter X Hunter -
Undeniably best Power System that’s both simple and complex
One of the most well constructed worlds in Shonen (second only to One Piece)
Fantastic cast of main characters with a strong central cast (Gon/Killua/Kurapika/Leorio) with some fantastic support cast
Great story lines in each arc
One of the most well known and well received villains (Meruem)

Yuyu Hakusho on the other hand was one of the most well known and loved shonen manga. Even currently after years off of publication it’s still a very well known manga that inspired many current mangaka like Kishimoto of Naruto

I chose « Berserk » because :

-It is an original story which is harder to do than based your story on real life events (I.e Vagabond, Kingdom)
-The art
-The plot
-The émotions
-The MC
-The Vilain
-The paneling
-The horror
-The story setting
-The story telling
-The influence on culture
-I’m not a shipper and I cared a lot about a certain couple
-The consistency

Note that I do not think we should compare weekly manga to mensual or bi-annual one. It is not the same thing to have one year to work on a chapter and just one week.
wow.. one year per chap...

Add Katsuhiro Otomo(Akira)
Ikki Kajiwara/Tetsuya Chiba(Ashita no Joe)
Go Nagai(Devilman)
George Morikawa(Hajime no Ippo)
Inio Asano(Punpun)
Shirou Masamune(Ghost in the Shell)

I have more names but these are pretty famous so i think everyone will accept.

I'm not that diverse or veteran when it comes to the vast numbers of mangakas and manag's in general . since the most i have witness is Naruto and One piece not even BLEACH..

But i should give credit where credit is due even if kishimoto doesn't get nominated for whatever the contentious flaws there may be in his manga.

The philosophies and spins on reality he introduced with the villan and side-protagonists and how he intertwined them with Naruto (the MC) and made him grow from them.. ( nibba its been years since i finished naruto yet i cried at Kurama's death even after such a long time)

and then Oda.. just SPLENDID characterization, world building, character development, MC spotlight and development, Themes and Ambitions.., fuck PS btw, just fantabulous

I'M looking forward to something light .. then I'll get the chunky stuff like berserk.. hajime Ippo etc.. I'm getting very dense heavy vibes from hajime and Oyasumi punpun like I'm not ready yet for it or something.. even berserk....
