Yeah I never saw Kidd as Luffy's rival. He has nothing like Whitebeard bar the CoC tbh.

I feel like Oda won't necessarily portray a rival for Luffy, I mean his journey might come to an end sooner than many think if the crew is disbanded at EoS.
