Since when is the barrier made for resisting only the force that gets slammed against it and specifically not shielding against gravity?
Again, it is stupid magical ability that pops up by crossing fingers. Afaik, the only limitation Oda has set for it is not being soundproof and only one can be created at the time. You are using a lot of headcanon trying to logically justify a magical stupid ability.

He isn't quite his parallel, that's Ryuma. If not he is clearly at least on YC1 tier despite his capture. He scarred a yonko level character, and the most durable, I haven't seen a single YC1 do something like that.
