We should never forget they're animals so they never do anything of ill intent. It's pure instincts or learned behaviour.
For the female to move around the kittens, they "bite" the neck of the kitten so the muscles of the kitten become relaxed and whatnot. That's why they have those sensors, to not hurt their babies if they need to take them to another place.
3 hours ago I actually found a cat in the middle of nowhere and tried to take him to the city. Grabbed him that way but he was able to get off and run away from me.
