Enryu being protected makes no sense. Mafia killing him makes no sense. So the only situation where he's town is if both Vig and Doc targeted him, which would both be bad moves.

Mafia could have tried to kill him if they thought he was Near or some other power role after his D1 hinting. On thread play I agree there wouldn’t be a reason to shoot him though.

If we don’t get a vig claim on the hit then either mafia had to swing at him or a SK.
