What encounter with Ashura? The one panel encounter where its not even clear that Kaido is blocking or fighting with Zoro?

Yeah, thats not solid proof.
Keep coping. You are denying manga panels to push a headcanon.
It wasn't one panel either. It shows Zoro besting Kaido in close combat. Lots of panels have been posted showing that Kaido was trying to hit Zoro and Zoro blocked all those hits and landed his attack.

Marco already fought Big Mom in close combat.
Same Marco got beat by King
Meaning King will perform better against Big Mom than Marco...hence perform well against Kaido
Add the fact that King's durability surpasses Kaido's and your point becomes completely baseless.

Find another way to downplay Zoro

Genus is different from the fruit.

Kaku's fruit is called Ox ox fruit model: Giraffe. It is obvious that Kaku is not an ox but a giraffe.
Same way Kaido is Fish fish fruit model: Azure Dragon. Kaido's an Azure Dragon and not a Fish.
King is a Dragon Dragon fruit model: Pteranodon. He is a Pteranodon and not a Dragon.
Yeah. In Japan dinosaurs are referred to as Dragons too. That's where the Dragon name comes from. And as far as I know, Oda named Kaido's fruit Uo Uo and not Ryou Ryou in order to make a distinction between Kaido and the other dinosaurs.

I'm mostly impressed by King' physical strength in base. He's a beast.
He could have arguably ended up being stronger if he would just have a conventional hybrid mode instead of that wing based form.
Imagine such a powerful swordsman additionally boosted in strength.. that would go hard.
Lunarians are insane. How did they freakin get rid of them?
Like hardening using high tier swordsmen cannot damage him severly and also cannot handle his power. Dude would go apeshit on a bunch of VAs for example.

But yeah it's still only hardening Zoro that got trashed here. That's not his peak performance.
Let's see how King handles those attacks where he let's Enma go lose. Prolly what we are getting now with that ending scene.
Ancient Weapons or some other trick got rid of them probably...

ConquistadoR

The Rogue Prince

Exactly. In Japanese, Dinosaurs are called Kyoryu, which translates to Scary Dragons. Which is why Oda named every Dinosaur fruit under the Ryu Ryu no mi genus.

An admiral or two probably just cleared them out so that the Celestial Dragons could live on Mariejoa.

Zoro: "Is that the famous toughness
of “dragons” and “dinosaurs”!!?"

King: "That's right... But I'm something MORE than that!!
I'm a little more “special” than others!! "

He insinuates it himself
he also acknowledged that he tanked thanks to the thoughness of dinosaurs ryu ryu nomi fruits, then he talked about being something more, it can be about durability but maybe it's also about him just being not ordinary human
