Imagine Oda actually intending to portray the 1.3b, ancient zoan, subordinate guy as not significantly weaker than his own 4.6b captain, not only mythical zoan but pretty much that of the king of beasts, labelled World's Strongest Creature, representing a freaking oni and who was explicitly stated to have gathered a crew of powerful individuals who admired his individual strength.

Of course Kaido is way above King.

I was talking about their level as fighter in general. Which I view Luffy greater than Zoro.

But Zoro has more power, I could agree with you if you are just talking about power, but as fighter, Luffy is stronger, not only, but it is a must.

and how does that make any sort of sense? Following the manga logic, Kaidou > King. What you are trying to say is nothing short of a retcon, borne from a desperate attempt to feel superior.

Yes, take as example King Elizabeth, he has the power to clash with even emperors, already confirmed by Oda in a sbs, but that power does not mean he can defeat them or is on their level.

Being able to hit harder does not mean you are on that tier if all your other stats are weaker.

Zoro and Luffy are very near each other as fighter in the same tier, with Zoro having the edge in lethality but Luffy has more AP or brute force with his Gear 4. They are almost the same,
