Yes,but even in the OP world the pirate life is not that fun,you will be hunted by Marines,Bounty Hunters and other pirates.I still don't get how the straw hats make a living...
If were to become a pirate in the OP world,i suppose i would need to do a lot of hunting/fishing and looting other pirates treasure.

I'd definitely be a marine because I like opressing people and bowing to an insane, racist government that commits genocides against innocent people.

That’s the problem. I believe that 80% of the Marines have a good heart and that 99% of the pirates are evil scum.

Meanwhile if you go Marines, you are literally trained by legends like Garp, Sengoku and Zephyr. You will learn Rokushiki, have a stable roof over your head with regular meals. Promotions are much easier and you don't need to worry being backstabbed by some pirate you worked with for 10 years.
