The whole "lynch me if X flips town" is something that any scum can say to make themselves appear more genuine in their push. It's also just an illogical statement to make as a townie. It sucks if your read was wrong on someone but that doesn't all of a sudden mean you should up next on the chopping block. You know that you're town and that won't change regardless of the flip, why should town mislynch another player just cause you were wrong?
Additionally, that statement tells town that they should view the interaction between you and the person you're scum reading as TvS. If one flips town, lynch the other cause they have to be scum is basically what you're telling us by saying "lynch me if X flips town". Why should a townie have that mindset? In a way, it's kind of TMI.
