Oden just happened to have higher lethality being a swordsman, that's why he managed to scare him. Kaido was stronger overall, though. He won fair and square. In all the mentions of that fight the focus is on Kaido's strenght not cheap tricks.

Also Oden didn't fight Hybrid Kaido.

Kaido men using Momo is stupid reason for Oda to end the battle in one chapter.
Even tho that's a Young Kaido, him winning by distraction isnt satisfying.

Seems like even Oden can't tank a clean attack from base Kaido.
Kaido AP > Roger/WB.
Base Kaido has power to k.o top tiers with a clean hig! This man is insanely strong physically.

Oden got executed later on for not cooperating I guess.

Also Prime Kuzan at MF took long to beat distracted Jozu
Young Kaido finished distracted Oden quickly

If Oden a natural freak couldnt tank a clean hit from base Kaido then current Kaido can indeed oneshot/2 shots admirals or other top tiers who isnt BM (very tanky)
