well if that was really an evident for not being a traitor then Kiku is not the traitor either since she has inner dialogue was thinking Luffy and co are good people but cannot trusted yet while they where in their way to Oden castle. for sure it could be just something to mislead us too

Oden just use the weakness of Kaido in Dragon form to scar him and base Kaido never got a real chance to fight him in fair terms ...

in this chapter I don't see much of a downplay since Oden is clearly ~ admiral level


we already know Kaido defense is FUCKED UP in Dragon form

while in his base form he TANKED THE SHIT out of many Gear 4 attacks


Base Kaido is really much stronger than Dragon Kaido ...
