Man this chapter just polarised one piece community.
Even brago and few other YT channel are skeptical and said things could have been better.
Was i only one who enjoyed it. Overall i felt oda purposely did nt want to reveal kaidos power before luffy fights him and he got the oden hype still going .

@Finalbeta regarding wb roger fight this is what i always see oda in author point of view.
Oda is more of an author than manga artist. His writting revolves around the hero luffywho wish to be pirate king. I would say any hype to past character and oda naturally has thought about it he does nt want old character take the shining spot .
Maybe its just oda is biased as an author because his focus is on present. He probably leaves it upto readers imagination rogers hype or prime beard or garp.
He is like GRRM in a way he focuses his plant to grow in a careful way to avoid others to take shine.
I see oda in a literary sense thats why japs like him because his illustration in one piece are more story telling than mere battle.

The entire chapter felt like Oda didn't want show us the battle in order to not reveal certain character's abilitys. Oda always does that and I guess you get used to it, cause usually there is some relief inbetween, but this time it feels like it's been ages since Oda drew satisfying and conclusive fights for other people than Luffy. On Wci we got nothing, only clashes, on Zou not even that and Dressrosa happend like 5 years ago and even there half of the Strawhat's didn't get a chance to fight, so for some it's been almost a decade lol.
Hopefully the wait is worth it and once the war at Wano is going to start, Oda will finally deliver all the desired fights we've been fighting for years. If so, in this case you could at least say purpose juftifies the means.
