I don't think he's saying that. He's just saying it's related to size/speed. Luffy is clearly using AdvCoA in Gear 4 when he fights Kaido in 1002/1003. But his move names didn't change. @sanjikun has a point there.

There isn't a "difference" between CoA and AdvCoA in terms of move names. Roc is just a bigger Hawk name. Hawk is the CoA version of "Jet" names for G2. Elephant is the CoA version of "Gigant" names for G3. Roc seems to be the CoA version a compromise between G2 and G3. It's a big, fast punch.

In Chapter 1000, you can also see he changes to G3 for it. It's a a bigger variant of Red Hawk, that's it. It applies AdvCoA, but that doesn't mean he can't do Red Hawk with AdvCoA too

Ffs, no one is saying he's not using advanced Haki. Simply that the existence of Roc moves is not predicated on advanced Haki.

Some of you have a fetish with this whole "Advanced CoA/CoC version of". So far Oda has not renamed any of Luffy's moves like Zoro. He still used Red Hawk with ACoA, and Jet Culverin with ACoC.

Again, Elephant Gun isnt Roc Gun. Roc Gun is not the same size. Kaido is not giant sized either. Roc only is about the size of his face. Elephant Gun would probably cover most of his body.

For example, if Luffy wanted to. He can apply AdvCoA to Elephant Gun. We know this because the G4 move names did not change when he used AdvCoA.

Animal named is with basics Haki: Elephant Gun,Elephant Gattling or grizzly magnum etc..
Roc is with Adv Hakis: Red Roc,Roc Gun and Roc Gattling etc....

It’s updated stronger G4 moves giant pistol(pre ts no haki) is weaker than EG with hardening and this move is weaker than Roc gun with and we have red roc which should be stronger now than it was when first used cu it’s fire based.

You get that all didn’t take place in whos whos cat cafe. There wasn’t a single headliner there most were waiters with one or two gifters. And they were all taken down by a single headliner.
