They're literally the same attack used in conjunction with a different attack. Let's not undermine it just because it was Zoro. You can say the one Luffy blocked was more violent or fast as it's being deflected by Tatsumaki.

You can see the difference in size? Also Kaido was focused on Luffy whereas Zoro was far away and not the focus of the attack.

we should not forget that Luffy is in his base and still he is going toe to toe with Kaido, I assume he doesn't need G4 anymore if anything else his awakening would do the job.

For luffy to be a complete top tier, he needs a form which doesn't drains like g4

G5 can basically be g2 plus g3 or if gorosei are talking about gomu then awakening

Ah combo of G2+G3 here, nice to see that Luffy used both at sametime now. Current base Luffy seems be above any commander bare BenBeckman. G4 is going be a overkill this time. Also nice fact that Luffy finally used G3 as a kick with CoA, firsttime that Luffy actually do this.

Pretty nice to see how Luffy toe to toe with Kaido, showing how great his grow was, from clashing with Doffy and having problems to fight Kaido 1on1 this good, it make sense why Oda build up the Kata and Cracker fight,Luffy Really grow up:
Kaido>Katakuri>Cracker>Doffy

Every new villian got stronger and stronger, Oda way to show how Luffy increase a lot, facing Cracker who is stronger then Doffy, to face Kata who is stronger then Cracker, to fight now Kaido who is far stronger then Katakuri.

Luffy really grow up, can't wait to see how he use G4 or new powerup soon.

Luffy was 1 powerup from surpassing Katakuri/5th Emperor. Cracker wasn't shit but an appetizer to the main battle of WCI. He was the Apoo of WCI.
