Oda tried too much
He added and forced the plot,
I really think he was gonna write it straightforward:
Kaido heard of Oden tales with WB and Roger
Went to Wano then fought and executed him for not cooperating.
Much better plot.
Now :
we got a different Kaido who isnt so honorable in battles, who isn't suicidal ,
We got Oden going from straightforward and cool to naive.
Toki being wasted.
We have 5 year gap...
kaido being in wano for so long and was afraid to fight wano army
the man who challenges Navy and his rivals solo was afraid of Hyou Oden teaming up??? ...
Unless he gives us a concrete reason why Kaido became suicidal and honorable.
Oden flashbacks second half has changed Oden Toki Kaido characters one way or another.
Kaido should have been outside of wano
Oden should have been shogun when returned the orochi betrays him when Kaido invades.
But hey, Oda tries to change his plans whenever fans start speculating what he was gonna do.

WCI and its Weeding Caakeeeeee and I wanna surpas you I wanna surpass you
Now Wano and its Lulffy vs fodders fest and Lolden's flashback
Yep pre TS was better.
Even short arc like Arlong Park was still more interesting than the currently trending dragged arcs flooded with side characters; with interaction among main Straw Hats being sacrificed for those side characters.
