That CoC clash didnt even destroy or cause casualties around the palace. Katakuri and Luffy did more . Young oden and WB coc impact was even better.

Also LOL at "Oden will overpower Base Kaido or beat Base Kaido" base Kaido easily handled Oden without showing any sign

but Oden was above Kaido cause he landed one hit on Dragon kaido and got clubbed via distraction.
Let's forget Oden is a natural freak, was beaten in 2 moves. 2 namless strikes.

When in base form, kaido hasnt looked crap in the series yet.
Can Oda just stop making Kaido using Dragon fork?

I think that was a deliberate choice. Because now it's those "worthless" Scabbards job of opening Wano's borders. All that remains is how crucial they will be towards that task.

Yes it was a deliberate choice but the problem is Oden isn't the guy who can handle being the only active player in this story at least as far as I can see.

It feels like this story would've done well yo have maybe Yasu or hyogoro or Toki as active participants if the Scabbards are to be useless. Like I know is the one with the big scene at the end with the time travel but the problem is we already know it so I though she would do something else before that but no.

Now I can say the main story IS NOT that centered on Luffy because I can at least point out important plot points that someone other than Luffy actually contributes to which is none existent in this Flashback.

The actual plot is so centered around Oden that it really puts into perspective how people complain about the plot of the main story is too focused on Luffy. Now I can say the main story IS NOT that centered on Luffy because I can at least point out important plot points that someone other than Luffy actually contributes to which is none existent in this Flashback.

You bring another issue I have with the whole 5 year deal. The problem I have with it the way it's set up, it's all Oden's doing. It doesn't feel like the antagonists were overwhelming, or even cunning. They didn't exactly have the most favorable position to make demands. In the end, it was Oden's own poor judgement which led to his country going to heck. It's like Oda couldn't wrestle control of the story away from Oden.

So Orochi kidnapped men nd women, and took weapons to pay Kaido tribute.
So Kaido says he will either kill or sell them
Then Orochi says even if Oden fights them, he will lose a lot.

it was orochi who gave Kaido those men and weapons as tributes.
Kaido wanting to kill or sell the gifts he received from Orochi, is something any ruthless pirate does.

Did Kaido have hostages? Yes
But did he capture or kidnap them to try lure Oden? Nope. It was Orochi who kidnapped them.
Did he take advantage? Surely he did as he fooled Oden into thinking he would leave in 5 years and wont kill/sell the men.

As we can see base Kaido can handle Oden easily .

Which only solidify that Kaido never needed hostage to beat Oden since the old lady pulled that on her own.
And He only feared fighting wano army as a whole led by Oden and Hyou together. He never said he would lose but rather it will be a much more difficult battle since they were at disadvantage due to short of men.

Had Oda chosen literally any other reason rather than the naked dancing and the hostages to justify the 5 years time gap, this could've been the best or second best flashback in the entire manga. But noooo

Question was did the killing or kidnapping happened during those 5 years as well. Kinda makes sense orochi did not start any new factories in those times.

They wanted to build frustruation in oden and make him fight the war were he will lose.

Shinobu could've told the Scabbards about the hostages. They could've convinced Oden to do literally anything else. But nope, 5 years, nothing happened but the dancing.

as i have mentioned before in previous posts, imo there was no killing that happened during those 5 years... we can like or dislike the reasons for Oden to not attack earlier, but i think Oda has done a good job from a storytelling perspective to explain that..... Yes people were enslaved and suffered in the factory, yes the water was contaminated... but the people had food to barely survive, and the whole plot by Kaido & Orochi was to make Wano citizens lose their trust in Oden so they had literally no reason to kill people as long as Oden was holding his part of the deal... look at old Hyo, even he didn't die after working for so long in his condition

Oden is too stupid, Luffy is like 10 x smarter than Oden.



1) When Toki was dropped off in Wano, his retainers said they needed help with the problems in Wano. Even Oden could tell how bad it was

Luffy would stay, beat Orochi with the Roger Pirate crews help, before continuing on his journey to Raftel.

2) Oden and Vivi thought the same way and made the same mistakes. Vivi thought she could win without abyone dying, mean while more people were suffering due to her not taking out the source of the problem.

Luffy told her that way of thinking would not get her anywhere and would do more harm than good.

3) Oden was so selfish that he never accepted help, when the Roger Pirates offered to help clean up Wano and open the borders

Luffy would have accepted the help to fixing Wano's problems right away.

I believe it is right, luffy chose to save margarette rather than having a boat back in amazon lily
