"Novice" Awakening doesnt exist. They gaining more control over it overtime doesnt mean it will be more powerful for sure, but less taxing more likely.

And Awakening is the equivalent of AdCoC. AdCoC for Luffy, Awakening for Kid/Law. So they having no AdCoC is irrelevant, because what BigMom used to powerup herself is more impressive than AdCoC, that's why she did it.
