Oda didnt have oden dominate base kaido, had oden lose in one blow from base kaido from behind.
Yet you here thinking a dude who got oneshotted from the front will solo.
He will trash dragon kaido as he did with g3
But he is not matching base kaido or hybrid. He isnt beating kaido 1v1 unless others weakenes kaido already
Oden best chance was fighting drunk kaido or dragon kaido
Kata legend of not falling during battle didnt break till himself decided
He also never lost the brawl nor was he dominated
But somehow g4 luffy goes from barely matching base kata to matching full powered or even base kaido

Wano indeed made Marineford look cute with the winning streak of Weekly Messiah Monkey D. Luffy against fearsome lion Headliner Holdem, undefeated sumo champion Urashima and experienced Udon Warden Babanuki.
Not to mention the very detailed legendary duel of Whitebeard vs Roger and Rayleigh vs Oden + Marco.
And the very memorable scene of Lord Oden making X wound mark on Kaido's chest that felt grander than Zoro ISDSed Pica and Luffy KKGed Doffy.

Luffy wasn't main character of Marineford war. You can say it was WB, Ace or Akainu. But it wasn't Luffy. He was a small speck who didn't impact the outcome at all.
Oden inferred that the main character will come to New World to fight this giant war. And that is why it is imperative to find this person and bring him/her to Wano. The main character hasn't fought the war yet, he/she will fight it in the future. Oden is just using this opportunity of the main character being in the New World to get rid of Kaido.
