Except Oda and Oden repeteadly stating that's the case. Kaido's "1 v. 1" legend was meant for Luffy to break.

Oda didnt have oden dominate base kaido, had oden lose in one blow from base kaido from behind.
Yet you here thinking a dude who got oneshotted from the front will solo.

He will trash dragon kaido as he did with g3
But he is not matching base kaido or hybrid. He isnt beating kaido 1v1 unless others weakenes kaido already

Oden best chance was fighting drunk kaido or dragon kaido

Kata legend of not falling during battle didnt break till himself decided
He also never lost the brawl nor was he dominated

But somehow g4 luffy goes from barely matching base kata to matching full powered or even base kaido

Wano indeed made Marineford look cute with the winning streak of Weekly Messiah Monkey D. Luffy against fearsome lion Headliner Holdem, undefeated sumo champion Urashima and experienced Udon Warden Babanuki.
Not to mention the very detailed legendary duel of Whitebeard vs Roger and Rayleigh vs Oden + Marco.
And the very memorable scene of Lord Oden making X wound mark on Kaido's chest that felt grander than Zoro ISDSed Pica and Luffy KKGed Doffy.

20 years in the future, the world is probably gonna experience "a giant war" that can split the sea. Which means that, in 20 years, the main character of "the giant war" will come into the new world, the one that can defeat Kaido will be them.

Luffy wasn't main character of Marineford war. You can say it was WB, Ace or Akainu. But it wasn't Luffy. He was a small speck who didn't impact the outcome at all.

Oden inferred that the main character will come to New World to fight this giant war. And that is why it is imperative to find this person and bring him/her to Wano. The main character hasn't fought the war yet, he/she will fight it in the future. Oden is just using this opportunity of the main character being in the New World to get rid of Kaido.

I read it, nothing new. Oden said that the Great War will happen in those 20 years and that the main character(s) will defeat Kaido. It just implies that that character(s), who will play the main role in the war later, will defeat Kaido.

He shifted the tides to wb favour, when he arrived
He saved Ace
WB changed his mind and told his crrw to save and protect him
Marines wanted him dead badly

After Ace died, the whole attention was on Luffy

In 20 years giant war will happen....this implies that a huge war engulfing whole world will break out.

Main character of that giant war will appear - here oden is referring to joyboy who will Mc of the huge war that will break out and not marineford war.

Then he follows up with 'the one who can defeat kaido would be them'. This implies few things....

First, it could simply means that them is gender neutral term and oden is referring to joyboy here.

Second,it could also oda way of foreshadowing once again that kaido will be a team work


Third, giant war will happen after Kaido will fall. That is Post wano

But oden say this year (present year)huge war will break out splitting the sea and the main character of that war will enter nw this year(present year).

Its after this sentence he says that the one who will defeat kaido would be them... implying kaido would be a stepping and stone and possibly his fall would be one of the cause that will lead to great war....
