I gave Xlaw several chances to explain himself , but he kept changing his story

So saying I didn't give him any leeway would be a false statement.

So you're basically saying we shouldn't learn from our mistakes?

No we should learn from our mistakes, especially in real life lol. What I meant with the Xlaw and Nana comparison is that when we give too much leeway to lying, it potentially allows scum to get away with it as well on the basis that we wrong about the other guy, so we’re wrong about this guy for the same reason.

They’re appealing to the fact that our suspicion has a pretty high false positive rate, when in reality, it was just the townie playing in a way that’s usually a punishable behavior.

So it’s about sticking to a rule, that usually helps townies, and not abandoning it for the sake of bias or other reasons.

I see. I felt similarly about Xlaw. I guess my question would be what about her behavior makes her lean town. Because her trying to claw out of any sort of danger and appease and explain herself behind closed doors does not immediately strike me as townie. That she's offering you a carrot on a stick that she can find Mr. Orange sounds like she's bartering for more time.

Townies are often motivated by wanting to live but we also have a treestump mechanic in this game which would allow her to post after death so I'm less sympathetic to blatant attempts at self preservation like this.

That being said, if she's town, I don't really care much for punishing her or w/e. But I think a good case needs to be made for her, you can't just hand waive this shit.

Essentially, like she has a lot going on in life, and that not being active 24/7 on this game, but also still wanting to play should be considered. This is where her main reason to lie comes from and that she just wants to have fun. She also scum reads Ryu kishi.

She also says that she isn’t interested in the tree stump mechanic and won’t post or come back through that.
