The american dream is dead, the republican party has basically embraced fascism, and every 3-4 years we have some sort of major period of social unrest because the system is broken and nobody can fix it.

American politics in entirely dependent on the rich cooperating. If the rick were properly taxed, we can easily have the budget for universal Healthcare. However, there are too many ways the rich have to avoid paying taxes despite them easily filling their pockets with cash thanks to insider trading. Nancy Poleski for example made 133M doing it. Democrat and Republican politicians increased their net worth by almost 40% during the last 5 years or so.

If you have a normal 40k a year job congrats...you just payed more in taxes than 800B Elon Musk.

I truly despise how people who are well off in life vote to protect their own privilege

Like in regards to housing. Housing isn't just an asset, its a human need. Yet you have so many people who are opposed to low income housing in the suburbs because "muh property values" or "muh crime".

Like jesus christ, there are people literally living in squalor.
