Holy shit. Awakening is definitely incoming. And I think it'll be beyond Luffy's control. I.e. Like Naruto and his first Kyuubi transformation. Or Ichigo and his first hollow transformation. No matter how you spell it, there was no Vs chapter, and because Luffy is now "down", the only thing left is his teased awakening.

Luffy fans are probably angry now, but Kaido beating him again(specially in a "dirty" way) is very good. Now we can get into a flashback or expand his character. In other hand we can finally say he's the hardest enemy Luffy ever faced.

The thing is, Kaido is going to keep fighting, getting hits later by awakened Luffy in a all out battle, thinking he would be down by a attack who couldn´t put him down is simple wrong. Kaido will tank later far stronger attacks when Luffy is using his awakened power.
Also Kaido could still have awakening as last trumpcard, meaning he is still not at his limit like Luffy was.
This chapter show that Luffy was the one who was at his limit, not Kaido!!

Exactly if anything this happening before the 'versus' chapter almost confirms Luffy will comeback from that...
