Eh, I agreed with you on the G2/3 combo with Roc, but there is really no differentiator here with G4. Nothing here indicates KKG is bigger than OKG, or slower. They look relatively the same size. Realize who Luffy is punching. He's not attacking 9 foot doflamingo anymore, he's fighting a 28 foot monster who's even bigger in hybrid and 200+ feet long as a dragon.

The Kanji suggests it's stronger.

There is a differentiator. "Dai" means large. King Kong has the Kanji of "Big/Large Monkey".

Over doesn't have that. It's a superior Kong Gun, not a superior KKG.

And btw "Ooozaru" from Dragon Ball is the Japanese translation of that. Same Kanji.

You say it's not enough, but that is due to Luffy's stamina being nerfed out of the gate, hence why he started with the odd phrase "my last gear fourth"
Also the last punch could have arguably defeated Kaido, if you think Oden could have beaten base 20 years ago Kaido in the same circumstance.

Idk I don't really think it would have taken him down. He seemed fine after getting hit by the last one (went straight into his mad killer mode with a new move).

Imo, the only thing left to be done is to give Luffy his awakening mode (or the beginnings of one). I do think Oda is going the natural rubber/oil route. With that his punches might be FAR harder or the flames might ignite far hotter. It all depends on what it's meant to be.

Are you still facing this whole hostage problem? We saw in this chapter that kaido has nothing to do with it, to keep claiming otherwise is to be stupid, and it was a good point for ODA to make kaido massacre ODEN like that, so he would hide kaido's abilities, I mean, it makes no sense for the author to show Kaido giving his all against Oden 20 years ago when his current fight is Luffy, it would totally ruin things. And about ODEN living 20 years in kaido's head, it actually makes sense, Oden when compared to the samurai rabble of WANO he is indeed a monster in Ap and lethality, in a single hit, no one so far has replicated the amount of damage and fatality that ODEN with his strongest attack caused on kaido, the kaido that got up 3 seconds later, lol.

Kong Gun is not bigger than G4 luffy, it's a regular G4 punch. Over Kong Gun is literally KKG sized.

If Luffy decided to use the move twice to "try" and beat Kaido as his last resort, then it by default suggests KKG is not stronger

Oda said that he approved of this move, too big a change for the animators to insert it without the author's knowledge. Now he has to keep this in mind so that nonsense does not come out. So current attacks>>pre power ups KKG

It is KKG, just have Over as name since it is fused with adv CoC,means it is KKG but with adv CoC.

Luffy was about to lose G4, he used his final and strongest attack and that for twice. Their is no move above Over Kong Gun, based on the narative that was Luffy final punch.

His awakening will push his attack, G4 is clearly not enough.

His overwanked G4 and the allmighty KKG was casually tanked by Kaido.
He is pissed that even with adv CoC Luffy couldn't defeat Kaido.
Telled him since years that Boundman would be not enough. KKG was never the finisher for Kaido. Luffy showing a far stronger attack.
