Naruto - from the beginning he was portrayed as being dissed by others for lacking talent but he didn't give up. Hardwork was his motto to make up for innate talent. But it changed the moment we learnt he was special from the beginning.


One Piece - Luffy was lucky and special from the beginning. Getting gomu gomu no mi, meeting shanks, Logue town (saved by dragon), everyone seeing Roger in him, Will of D, Alabasta (saved by Robin out of nowhere, and then water droppin on him after he lost to croc second time) and so on. FI literally hinted that Luffy is Joyboy.


Two different narrations of two different mangas.

Yet, you have people screaming this is bad when oda literally put this in front of us for a long time.

Only thing which came out of surprise is Gomu Gomu no mi being special and his awakening being linked to Joyboy

We got Deidara vs Gaara, team Asuma vs Hidan, Jiraiya vs Pein, Killer Bee vs Kisame, Deidara vs Sasuke etc etc.

True true, I like your point. Tho due to 9 tail I think people look at Naruto harsher and all. I didn't say that they have the same type of power-up tho.

In the Luffy's defense, I can say that since he is kind of a selfish and narcissistic person when he hit before the time skip a wall he yet had soooome kind of reflections on what he has done and what kind of a wildfire he is, trying yet to change his moves......... By still being a wild fire but more focused I guess. Dunno, I am not the biggest Luffy fan but I am kind of a person who can see in negative things some positives and all.

The only things that those have in common if it comes to the powers are that they both decided to train for 2 years for friends' sake and that they have devil/demonic powers of some sort. Besides that, they are completely different mangas which I love with the same pace...... even if I more like secondary and third characters more than the main trios. That is why they get their screentime too tho

I wish most battles were off panelled in the War arc what we've got instead, remember Deidara and Kakuzu's defeat?

But Naruto did something right; battles of side characters were good, Naruto's were mostly shit tho, Deidara vs Naruto, Kakuzu vs Naruto and so on. His only great fight was against Pain.

At least Luffy has good fights and mostly gets good beating, let alone his fight against Kaido. But Naruto? This dude unironically took more damage to a girl beating him up than any of those villains. Natsu gets beaten up far more often as well.

Naruto was good but let's not act like it's much better than OP or Bleach. At least OP side characters are still relevant despite the huge numbers.

Even if Awakening Luffy comes out to be the dominant one against Awakening Kaido, it sure won't be as one-sided as Sot6P Naruto and Rinne Sasuke vs Madara who got replaced in the middle of their battle before it finally got interesting.
Bro, I was a huge Madara fan and this guy was highlighted so much as the final antagonist, the mastermind of everything until Black Zetsu negged him whilst being replaced by an incompetent old hag. It's a joke.

We always knew Naruto had the potential, he just needed proper guidance and shit. Everyone hated him in the beginning so he had no way to utilize any of his potential until he met jiraiya basically, he just had shadow clones lol
