Realist op fans: Noone important died in wano.

Odatards:Luffy died

Nah they just riding Kaido's dick. It's normal for MC to either die in the series or experience near death. One Piece quality dropped a long time ago but there are still some good moments here and there.

A foreshadowing would be good starters for future plot hints, look how many times Oda actually gave hints to Luffy = Sun God Nika. Only because you failed to grasp these hints, doesn't mean it's bad. Also, Luffy does nothing at all regarding his character? What? Luffy does whatever he wants which was linked several times to Roger's. That's the whole point. Luffy is a free man and thus, he acts like one. Luffy was never meant to be a hero either way.

Panel please, I forgot a single instance, it can happen and it sums up how insignificant it truly was meanwhile Luffy = Roger or Joyboy gets shoved into our faces on each occasion.

Luffy was in a near-death situation similar to Enel.
Also, OP characters rarely die, ie Pell or Pound. Ofc it isn't good since it creates fake tension but again, how it is something negative to Luffy who was always gifted with luck and destiny? Mihawk said Luffy's strongest ability it is to make allies.

Well, in order for Joyboy to be a literal god he should be capable of doing godly things which others are unable to do so. If Luffy has the resin fruit, do you think this ability grants him godly powers? Naruto had the power to make his thoughts into reality, that's how he saved Gai at the end.

Also, we need to see what Luffy can do in the first place. What if they're scared because Luffy has oil powers which can counter Imu's potential water powers?
This manga was about an individual wanting to become pirate king and needed a crew who had dreams. Not only this said crews importance has been lowered post timeskip but their dreams do not matter since the author does little to highlight them. All post ts has been is about prophecies. In said prophecies luffy is this luffy is that.

Naruto had the charm of his predecessor and even worked to end the cycle of hatred. Whatever luffy does contradicts his sense of freedom and being. Luffy still is the same bum that was at logue town.

Luffy goes against what his allies say about him. Luffy contradicts his sense of freedom with conquering fishman island. Luffy just smiles and moves on.

Naruto is way more fleshed out and well written.

Luffys charm worked when it was about the crew dynamics. Luffy on his own is exposed for the lack of the character he is.

Bro naruto stood over hashiramas statue and sasuke madaras.Naruto has been foreshadowed with hashirama since tsunade gave him the necklace like do i really need to prove it? Foreshadowing means nothing if the story diverts from its original or most pronounced direction.

These changes feel sudden because they are. Post timeskiphas been garbage and oda has shit on his creation

It could a part of the real deal like Sengoku DF.
Buddha is a deity yet is a DF.

Btw that oil/water are just theories so using them as arguments is irrelevant πŸ˜…

Waiting what he can do is valid obviously but i doubt Oda will do Joyboy/god Nika like the rest of "fake" gods.

Which is not true. Zoro post timeskip was portrayed as someone even more valuable as a vice captain, with Zoro and Sanji being called Luffy's wings and Luffy's strongest power being to make those around him his allies. That is what Joyboy's power was too probably. To unite people. He won't just ragdoll the WG solo now.

Next chapters we will see how Kaido will still put up a goo fight, just as Blackbeard. EOS Luffy won't be on another tier. Roger and Primebeard might push him to mid-high diff still.

Post Wano: Luffy ~ Roger >= Kaido (extreme diff)
Post beating BB: Luffy > Roger (extreme diff)
Post beating Im: mid-high.

It's not the same as with Naruto, who could solo the whole verse bar Rikudo descendants.

The child of the prophecy was foreshadowed with jiraya. Naruto did not contradict itself.
Exactly thats what happens in Naruto. But not One Piece. Allow me to briefly explain:-

One Piece has presented so many ideas/ideologies/moralities. But the one we are talking about here is the existing of Free Will and Destiny both concepts has been running in the background of the story across the entire series and often surfaces to question the characters and especially Luffy.

How Luffy works and handles these situations is totally different from Naruto.

Naruto challenge"d" the idea of destiny and confronted characters who accepted and surrendered to their "said" destinies and himself. But the story is outright telling us its how its supposed to be that he is destined to be on that path regardless of what he thinks and in the end he just accepts it as it is. Because in the end he is a Special one and only he can do what is neccesary. By the end of the story he was told a prophecy with two choices and as readers we knew what the answer was before reading what Naruto says.

Luffy is "not" challenging the idea of destiny he directly fights against it and confronts it as many times as the story uses it to block his path seeking said "Free Will" and the story keeps the struggle between the two concepts going each arc for Luffy and many others to seek what is right.

You might say yes with the current revelation that Luffy was always Special and the story have been hinting at it since chapter 1. But is Luffy the only Special one in the story? Roger was Special Ace was Special Zoro Kaido Big Mom Whitebeard and Blackbeard.

But does that even matter in One Piece? being Special? Yes "Destiny" No "Free Will". Every single time when Luffy faces with a choice he is always unpredictable about his method. The Big question about the whole Story that Luffy will face is.

Rayleigh :- "Perhaps we and Ohara were too early and hasty. You might come to a different answers from ours". Those lines alone has set a big foreshadowing for Luffy vs Destiny and Free Will when he finally discovers One Piece. The whole world and us readers will be waiting for an unknown answer because this is bigger than Naruto becoming Hokage to save the villege and then later questions himself in Boruto how and what is right.

That was when OP was good now luffy is just destiny's cuck

@comrade if you think zoro and sanji has been portrayed in a more valuable way then idk what to tell you. Luffy did not let zoro fight a swordsman in Issho and sanji could not save luffy without being saved by germa. Sanji is supposed to be fast.

@Santoryu D Bazooka If naruto would have killed sasuke it would have fulfilled his destiny naruto did not so he overcame it and it was congruent with his char

But what about the hidden foreshadowing?
It was foreshadowed, but that doesn't make it not bad. For example, if Oda wanted he can foreshadow zoro getting bored of trying to be WSS and deciding to leave the crew 100 chapters in advance but it would still be incongruent with the early story and be shit for the story going forward.

Hopefully you read the whole reply 1st. The thing is we knew this is was going to happen since the story itself been hinting at it overtime but the questions now are. So what? What will Luffy do? Become a King on a "throne" to change the world and dictates what to do? Or will he keeps being "Luffy"?
Become a king on a throne to change the world ofc. Luffy would have fell asleep listening to odens bull crap, lets be real. The luffy we knew for the entire manga is dead. Now all thats left is ALIEN GOD KING NIKA JOY BOYYYYY

But the prophecy wasn't him killing Sasuke.
"He is brought before the Great Toad Sage, who bestows upon Naruto a prophecy β€” that Naruto would meet an octopus and would face off against someone who has great power stemming from his eyes. Knowing that he is referring to Sasuke as well as the outcome of their future battle, Naruto tells him that he is unwavering in his resolve to continue down that path "

Naruto felt that his fight with Sasuke would happen and he accepts it. The Toad himself didn't know the outcome. But we all did before it happened.

Honestly, if Luffy ends up being the reincarnation of JoyBoy it won't nearly as bad as the whole thing of Naruto being the child of prophecy and the reincarnation of Asura. The reason people hated that was because it ruined one of Naruto's core themes. Luffy being the reincarnation of so legend is something bad imo, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't ruins the character or the core themes of the series.
Oh zamn is that Billy Bat?

Again it is not about destiny it is about luffys understanding and approach to his purpose is not congruent to his destiny. Luffy is a bad character simple. You may be his fanboy but it is what it is.

I see folks trying to rationalize their way around it saying we always knew luffy was special but it was never hinted to this extent .
having a df ability
having conquerors haki
having really strong family members was the extent to which I think most people thought this was

not the pseudo reincarnation of the messiah 800 yrs ago. The problem is joyboy doesn't feel like a title one achieves , it feels like luffy was born as this figure .

its all beginning to make sense now
Gold roger conquered the seas without being the so called chosen one but because he wasnt, things didnt align for him to get the job done. shirahoshi -- being too early etc.

we pretty much knew naruto was one of the few people that could contain the strongest tailed beast in him so while he did think he wasnt special ; he absolutely was. irrc that even became pivotal when he defeated neji .

Then what's 'inherited will' to you?
Isn't it fate??
You're calling them opposites
Lets use an example. Sanji wants to find the all blue, as he took inspiration from zeff. However, he was bred by judge to be a perfect soldier. Luffy wants to be a pirate like shanks even though garp wanted him to be a marine.
Your lineage never defined who you are, it was either someone the characters is impacted or inspired by.
